Noctis

He honestly thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he woke up from his mid car nap and saw the little dots on your cheeks. So he reached up, causing you to jump as you weren’t expecting for him to be awake, stroking your face, only to find they didn’t disappear.

“What the hell Noct?” You giggled, causing the others to glance in your directions.

“You’ve got something on your face.” He stated.

You pulled out your phone, flipping the camera to your front-facing camera only to see your the little spots out in the open. “Oh guess I’ve been out in the sun a lot. Mind raising the roof Ignis.”

“No, I like them.” The Prince whined.

“Yeah, but you’re not going to like this.”

Almost as if on cue, it started to rain.

“I hate when you do that.” Noctis groaned as you laughed loudly.

Prompto

He dusted the lens of his camera twice, but they still didn’t go away. You were currently jotting down in your notebook where you had all stopped for the day so you could pair it up later with Prompto’s photos.

“Chocobae, turn this way.”

You looked up from your notebook to your boyfriend, giving him a warm smile, only to notice his look of confusion as he walked over to you, “Something wrong with your camera?”

“No, you have freckles too. I didn’t know.”

You giggled, “Yeah they come out in the sun.”

“They’re super cute! We’re like twins now!”

You giggled louder, as he snapped a few more pictures, “I don’t know you’re so much cuter with them.”

This only succeeded in getting you a bunch of kisses.

Gladiolus

He gave a slight groan, having to stop himself from rolling over to his side, due to the fact that you were out cold on his chest. The way the two of you slept when you were together. Pressing a kiss to your forehead, only to stare.

You had quite the adorable little spots lining your cheeks and forehead, nothing that rivaled Prompto but they were there and they were adorable. Too adorable!

You had done this to his tattoo multiple times so he figured it was only fair that he returned the favor.

So when you stumbled into the bathroom and shrieked at the lines connecting the dots on your face with your blue eyeliner, he knew that he had achieved success and when the pillow hit his chest he knew you would want revenge.

When you giggled out his name standing in the doorway, he knew he won.

“What the hell?”

“They look cute.” He replied with a shrug.

“You wrote ‘cute butt’ in my freckles.”

“I mean…am I wrong?”

Ignis

You noticed Ignis was repeatedly looking to you out the side of his eye, even when you switch back to the backseat after Prompto had woken from his nap, you’d notice him sneaking glances to you through the rearview mirror. The thing was Ignis often caught glances of you as you did him, but these seemed different. Unlike the adorable flash of love, these were of confusion.

It was in the evening, as you both shopped the stales for dinner, that you caught him staring at you. Despite that green gaze constantly on you, this one kind of unnerved you.

“Ignis is everything all right?”

Ignis blinked almost as if he wasn’t aware that he was staring, “Yes, My Dear. I just did not know that you got sun freckles as well.”

You flushed, you didn’t think you had been in the sun too long, only to stop, “As well?”

“Yes, a trait we both seem to share.”

You squinted before giggling, it was true Ignis was also developing the tiny little dots of being in the sun, “Guess everyone knows we’re a bunch of introverts.”

Ignis chuckled as he leaned forward pressing a kiss to your now freckled cheek, “I find them on you rather becoming.”

You gave him a playful swat, “Charmer.”

– After he heard their shaky, tear-drowned voice trying to talk to him, he opened a door too fast, hitting a guard sending them flying to the ground
– Is so fast with his S/O, they might think he teleported
– He may, or may not, have warp striked himself through half of Insomnia
– Almost breaks through the door

– “What happened, are you hurt? Are you okay? What-”
– doesn’t even catch his breath
– Cuddles them and tries to calm them down

Prompto
– Hearing their voice crack broke his heart
– Drops everything to get to them as fast as he can
– Might forget to breathe
– “I’m here, what happened?”
– Instant cuddles
– Tears up himself
– Holds them until they calmed down
– Listens to what they have to say
– Cheers them up
– Spends the following days with them

Gladio
– Can’t stand the sound of his S/O crying
– It only tells him that something hurt them and it mostly is something he can’t punch
– Or slice up
– Hurries over to them
– With a big, fluffy blanket
– Places his S/O in his lap and wraps the blanket around the both of them
– “It’s okay! I’m here now. Tell me what happened.”
– Pats their head while listening
– Gets really angry if they cried because of someone
– No one hurts his S/O
– No one should be the reason for them to call him crying like this
– “I’ll get Iris to beat them up.” He jokes,
– It’s not a joke
– Iris would beat up anyone

Ignis
– Drops everything as soon as he can
– Goes (way) over the speed limit
– Stops at a grocery store to speed shop some sweets
– And to calm down a bit
– He got quite a temper when he heard them cry
– Totally told someone to shut up and get out of his way
– Poor guard
– Almost trips over his own two feet walking up to his S/O
– “I’m here darling, what happened?”
– Places sweet little kisses on their cheeks when they calmed down a bit
– prepares their favorite meal as a little cheer up

Ravus
– Threw his paperwork at someone before he stormed out the office
– He’s so determined to get to his S/O he wouldn’t even notice people nearby
– Kinda out of breath when he finally reaches them
– Instantly cradles them in his arms
– “I came as soon as I could my dear. What made you so upset?”
– Stays as long as possible
– Hugs them while they tell him what happened
– Snuggles
– Secretly pissed because he wasn’t there for them earlier
– And because someone/something had the audacity to upset his S/O

Ignis

Lips drifted over the curve of his nose, the dip of his jaw, across his forehead.  Hands cradled his face and lit fires beneath his skin.  Hair tickled his neck and a body kept him warm on the edge of the bed.  His hands stayed at his sides, gripping the edge of the bed, the sheets in his fingers creasing and tangling.  A soft breath fanned across his face smelling of mint and coffee.  His own breath shuddered as he let the love blanket him, seep into him, comfort him.  Tears clogged his throat and threatened to spill from his marbled eyes.  

“You are so wholly beautiful,” you whispered.  Your lips brushed over the scar marring the left side of his face.  "I see you as you are, not as you were.  I love you for what you have been and will become.  My love for you will never falter.“  Warm lips left the side of his face and he felt a forehead rest against his.  The silver fell from his eyes as he breathed out.

“Do you love me?” He asked.  His eyes were vulnerable, the amber turning to a dull brown.  There were fissures there, cracks in the typically invincible armor.  The Cupid’s bow of his lips had fallen and the pain that pinched his brow was something far worse than a physical pain.  A single word could take this man down.  A single word could break this incredible Shield beyond repair.  "I’m a beast with a scarred face.  I scare children and adults can only stare when I meet them.“  His shoulders were slumped and you never thought such a large man could look so small. Your heart broke and you could swear it made a sound, echoing in the dimly lit room.  

You walked up before him and gently took his face into your palms.  He’d looked away from you, eyes cast down to the floor.  The frown on his face was filled with a mixture of anger and self-pity and you ached knowing that all of it was directed at himself.  When he met your eyes again you shook your head.  "I love you very, very much Gladiolus Amicitia.  Your scars do not change how I see you or the amount that I love you.”  Your voice was a whisper but as hard as adamant.  You leaned forward, lips pressing to each of the scars decorating his face. “You are a wonderful man with a heart that’s even more so.  That is why I love you.”

Gladio x Reader: 16. “Just
talk to me.”

Gladio
knows that look on your face. He recognizes the worry pulling the corners of your
lips into a frown, the slump of your shoulders, the eyes searching the walls,
looking completely lost.

He lets you
crawl next to him at your pace as he pretends to be reading his book, waiting.
His warmth always pulls you closer, both comforting and tempting. The shawl on
your shoulders is soft and smells like you. He lifts his arm, so you have no
other choice but to accept his silent invitation.

You lay
your head against his heart, listening to the strong, even beats. Gladio’s hand
travels absent-mindedly across your shoulders, both warming and leaving ripples
of shivers in the wake of the careful touch.

When you
sigh wistfully, he finally speaks. The deep bass of his voice pleasantly
rumbles against your cheek. The tone is soft, almost cooing.

“Just talk
to me.”

You mumble
something incoherent and nuzzle your face into his shirt. He smells like
safety, like love and warmth. You rise and fall with Gladio’s deep breath.

“In a bit,”
you murmur and pull up your shawl to better cover your shoulders. For now, you
have all you need to feel better.
