Everyone you meet always asks if you have a career, are married or own a house; as if life was some kind of grocery list. But nobody ever asks if you are happy.
Okay so I noticed while watching Black Panther(which was fucking amazing! Seriously treat yourself and go watch it. Do it. Do it now!) that a few white people took the whole ‘Colonizer’ thing between Shuri and Ross as an offense. Even though, as Tumblr will point out, I’m not allowedany opinions other than what’s approved by a board of esteemed members of the Social Justice board, I wanted to give my two cents.
While I as a pasty ass white-y took no offense to it, in fact I thought it was cathartic considering Ross was acting like an incomparable ass and deserved to be verbally smacked around for a while, some might consider ‘colonizer’ as insulting. This is because, quite simply, it’s a reminder. A reminder of a nasty part of history that whites don’t want a part of anymore but can never escape because the repercussions of a handful of wealthy whites fucked it up for the rest of the population. Whites live with the guilt of our ancestors sins. that’s why colonizer hurts some people, because it isn’t a point of pride.
I’m reblogging this again because I wanted to add a note: PROTEST ANYWAYS.
If your schools threaten to suspend you, protest anyways. En masse. Because you know what gets tracked by district, state and federal administration? Suspensions.
Schools and schools systems *must report* their suspension levels etc. Every year all this data from the state gets compiled into a huge report and presented to the State Board of Education and the state legislators. By. School.
You know what happens to schools districts with unusually high rates? Big Trouble.
So if your principal/superintendent threatens to suspend any student participating in a walkout? Still do it. Because here’s what will happen: You’ll walk out, get suspended, the school will be empty basically for *days* effectively starting a strike, the principal will have to report it to the district, the district will have to report it to the state and there’s a solid chance your school’s administrative team could be replaced.
YOU HOLD ALL THE CARDS HERE. Don’t let them think otherwise. There is literally nothing they can threaten you with that won’t come back to bite them square in the ass.

think of it as level grinding for your next work.
As a scientific illustrator- this is 100% true and going to review your basics will fix it every goddamn time. Not only does it keep your skills sharp, when you’re not emotionally invested in the final product of a piece, you relax and your brain makes more/better art juice for you. So, when you get back to that big/important piece? You’ll know what to do and how to do it.
Nothing in nature blooms all year round. Rest, and take care of yourself.
Using Autism as a synonym for stupid. It’s not. It’s fucking not. It’s a mental disability that makes social interaction difficult and it also affects how a person’s sensory input operates. People on the Spectrum do not CHOOSE to be on it. Life for an Autistic Person can be difficult and lonely, so instead of using it as a means of describing some Five Nights at Freddys creep who rounds the corners of four chan with his loli art and who trolls everything, why not describe that person as the actual term; Stupid. Not Autistic. Seriously, if you use Autism as an insult that only makes you look remarkably ignorant and invalidates every point you make to me. This also applies to the derogatory R word(it don’t take a genius to figure out what that is) to describe a person.
Using Fat as a justification for bullying/harassing another person. I’ve already ranted about the Body Shaming vs Fat Acceptance debate, but as a summary both extremes are toxic to people who are struggling with their weight. People who are obese/heavy may have a medical condition and/or psychological factors that make weight loss difficult. If you actually give a mother fuck about someone’s physical and emotional health then fine. Encourage them, don’t take instagram photos of them and post them as your next LOL memes because fat people are PEOPLE damn it. Body Positivity as a whole doesn’t just encompass heavier set people in its ideology, ideally, that while it’s okay to seek improvement if you’re happy with yourself that’s perfectly okay too. It’s meant as an ideology to encourage people with themselves as someone worth fighting for and being healthier for.
Having a closed mind towards people who are different than you. Whites, Blacks, Hispanics,Muslims, Conservatives, LGBTQIA+, literally fucking EVERYONE take note in this. The only way we’re going to survive and get better as a species is if we collectively get our heads out of our own asses and try to respect and understand to the best of our ability the person beside us. And yes, I’m including myself in this with whatever supposed ‘subconscious influence’ remains in my brain from media and shit.
just a quick reminder to content creators: don’t be discouraged by other people’s works. your creative process is completely different from someone else’s, which means you will yield different results from others. we all have our own styles which will be redefined as we create more things. always remember that the work you see is the result of the creative process. and the person behind it may have had years of practise.
keep creating the things you want in the style you enjoy. when you put in hard work, people will naturally see the time you spent to create something. and when you’re going through a creative slump, let yourself ride through it. don’t force yourself to create something because you have to. create stuff because you want to and enjoy doing so.

Fanfiction is just the best isn’t it? You can go read a 5k little dribble about your otp having a morning cuddle with a side of pancakes, and then go to a 100k full fucking space epic au that someone just wrote cause they wanted to. We have heartwretching fics, coffee shop au’s, westerns, modern fantasies, arranged marriages, medieval stories, I’m so grateful to fanfic writers for giving us stories (some better than published books) about our favorite characters to read on the daily for free.
This is something to think about. Honestly, I don’t see him as a horribly jealous man, if not easily dispirited. He’s an older man – he’s lived through quite a bit and he’s more than likely used to being accustomed to everything in his life being taken from him without a moment’s notice. He’s grown used to the idea that he shouldn’t get attached because sooner or later, it’ll be gone – his family, perhaps any friendships and loyalties he had with Deadlock, Blackwatch and any relationships between members of both Black and Overwatch. Hell, even his arm was taken from him.
And while I believe that Sombra would never be interested in someone else while she’s expressed interest in McCree, I think, like her, he’s not used to expressing his feelings very well. Maybe not through anger and confusion, but through silence and distancing himself. He may grow a bit cold and take to alcohol a bit more than normally.
Any major instances of jealousy would be expressed through avoiding Sombra and trying to calm down on his own. His pride would keep him from bringing up any concerns with her. He’d sleep in longer or leave and find a bar somewhere to drown his sorrows.
McCree would doubt his own self worth. More than likely, he’d question his right to having someone like Sombra in his life. He’s almost ten years older than her – she’s a free spirit – always has been, in a way, just like he is. She’s beautiful and extremely smart and can flirt a mean game, even when she doesn’t mean to – it’s just how she is and it’s the way he was attracted to her. Of course she would catch the eye of other folk. And while he doesn’t like to think about it, he wonders just how long he’ll have left with her until she discovers she’d be better off with someone younger.
However, once Sombra notes his behavior, while he wouldn’t say anything to confirm or deny her questions of his sentiments, he’d be more physical with her. Hard pressed kisses against her hairline or soft cheek, eyes closing as he lingers. When he kisses her, he’d grab her forearms, holding her by the elbows as if to keep her with him. If he kisses her after he’s partaken in drink, he’d grip her face and give her a firm kiss, mashed and awkward lips and breathing through their nostrils. She’d mistake it for passion, not knowing he seeks her lips while the doubts and self criticisms plague his alcohol-clouded mind and the low burning rage of someone attempting to steal what belongs to him-his only stable happiness- simmers in his belly.
On the rare instances they can sleep together, his arm would be wrapped around her snugly, keeping her close to his body. He loves to press himself against her when he can, intent on almost leaving the scent of his cigars and cologne on her so that when she leaves, maybe others can catch the hint and leave her be. When she leaves him, he ensures to leave evidence of their meetings all over her body – on places only she’ll see. So that when she strips from her suit, she’ll see the marks and be reminded that he is the only one who has the pleasure of her company.
If something were to happen while he was with her, at first, he’d let her handle the situation, as she usually does. He likes it when she handles herself – she usually says such nice things that have him feeling confident. Sombra will proudly show him off or make a show of leaning against him and showering him with affection.
If the offending party were insistent, he’d slowly stand to his full height, gradually revealing his Peacemaker holstered at his hip while asking if there was a problem. Should they continue to harass Sombra or himself, he’d walk up to them, letting his boots strike heavily against the floor until he was less than an inch away and look them dead in the eye, telling them they have under ten seconds to get out of his sight or else he can’t guarantee their safety. This is usually enough to send most running away.
He plays off any accusations of ‘jealousy’ with claims that he was simply defending her honor and getting rid of the trash. He’ll remain steamed for a bit but a kiss from his woman and whispered reassurances that she only has eyes for him will have him turning into putty in her hands. Later though, the humiliation of someone having the gall of showing such blatant interest in her might have him fuming and pouting in silence.
Overall, McCree doesn’t question her fidelity – he worries about other people trespassing where they don’t belong or that she’ll decide she’d rather leave him one day. And he suffers from his own hypothetical scenarios that he conjures in drunken, pitiful states.
