I always write out the scripts for my comics before I draw them. That way I know exactly what I’m going to put in every single panel– what expressions to draw or poses to use. (Sometimes I write out Tumblr/Twitter captions, too, so I won’t forget them while I’m working.)
I’ve recently tried to limit myself to eight panels per comic so that I can post them on Twitter without having to cram more than two panels in one photo. Because of that, I have to edit myself down a lot and cut dialogue. Rip some of my jokes U_U
Let’s use my newest doodle comic as an example:
Once it’s written, I draw everything, panel by panel. Typically, I sketch and draw the line-art for each panel before moving on to the next one.

I usually wait to start coloring until I’ve drawn the entire comic. When I’m drawing comics with panels where the only thing I change is the expressions, I make sure to put faces and limbs on separate layers! That way, I can delete the changing parts without having to worry about cleanly erasing them from around the other line-art.
Then I color! (With repeat panels, I merge all color layers together and transfer them to the duplicates so that I don’t have to color essentially identical panels multiple times.)
After I’ve colored everything, I look for backgrounds. Sometimes they come from screenshots I capture myself, and sometimes I find them on Google. Tbh at this point I’ve been working on the comic for hours and the end is in sight… I just want to be done hahahaha
Then I lay out the text… A lot of the time, the characters have so much to say that they cover up outfits I poured a lot of time into drawing ;___; But it’s gotta be done. This is also when I add extra details like motion lines, arrows, etc.
Rip Prompto’s coat pockets. The last thing I do before I consider a comic done is messing around with the color a little bit with filter settings. The same comic may have panels with different filters depending on time of day, location, or mood!
And that’s about it! I’d say, on average, comics this size take me between 5-7 hours.

I got a good one for then. How
about a play on his stubbornness and hardheadedness. You always see him willing
to give everything to his S/O but what about the rest of his personality?
Something to get in the way of what his love wants. She’s always wanted
children with him, he’s completely against it because of his job and the danger
that comes with it. Huge fight ensues, she shuts down and drops her wish. Until
he sees her with a friend’s baby and realizes he yearns for the same w/her.

A Tuesday
Sitting in the dining room, you
drummed your fingers along the table top as your leg bounced up and down.
Fidgeting was helping in no way to calm your nerves and yet you couldn’t stop yourself
from moving.
“How much longer,” you asked your
friend Cindy, who was sitting across from you.
It was probably a little past three in the morning when
you jolted awake. You laid with your eyes staring at the ceiling and your heart
beat racing within your chest. You tried to move your arms and legs but you
couldn’t shift a muscle. You wanted to call out for someone, anyone but couldn’t.
You tried to breathe and remember you were fine, everything was okay, but your
body was refusing to listen to your brain.
Although this paralysis did not happen too frequently,
when it did occur, you felt yourself wishing for them to wash away as quickly
as they arose. You wanted power over
your body, but you received the exact opposite.
You could feel yourself gradually calming down and slowly
began moving your fingers; moving them up and down to stimulate some sort of progress.
Soon you were moving one of your arms back and forth across the mattress and
could move your feet to their sides as well.
In the middle of your actions, you felt a hand place
itself over yours. Able to turn your head, you glanced over to see a pair of
amber eyes looking at you. Ardyn lay there with a solemn expression, making it
clear he had surveyed your entire episode.
“I-I’m sorry if I woke you,” you croaked, your voice
still not completely within your control.
“It’s quite all right darling,” he whispered, bringing
his hand up to your face and sweeping a bit of hair out of your eyes, “Do you
want to talk about it?”
You shook your head, “It was just a nightmare. I guess a
little more intense than normal, but I don’t even remember what it was about
now.” Slowly, you managed to sit yourself up, running your hands over your head
and breathing in slow. You felt movement on the mattress and soon a hand on you
as well. Ardyn stroked your back and kissed the side of your head, whispering sweet
words in your ears in order to distract your panicked mind.
“Come here,” he spoke softly, pulling you to him. You
laid down next to him, his arms wrapped around you and your head buried into
his chest. You felt safe, you felt warm, and you felt calm. He continued to rub
your back and whisper words to you.
“You’re not alone.
I’m right here,” he murmured, as he kissed the top of your head.
Your eyes closed and you allowed his words to enter your
head; his voice filling your ears and mind while bringing peace to your frightened
soul.

I love this detail they added in anime. Iida was so worried about his brother that he DIDN’T FOLLOW THE RULES. For his character its really important. My heart hurts.
I feel mighty hurt when people make fanart of all the BNHA pretty boys but leave out Iida. He’s beautiful, hardworking, and very sweet and considerate of others. I can’t believe more people don’t thirst for him.
