so what causes Sombra and dragon!McCree to get closer? Does he freak her out the first time he decides to actually start talking? Does he let her leave his cave the first time he finds her trespassing? I’d imagine if he’s one of the few remaining dragons, he doesn’t trust humans very much. Especially one who was eyeing his hoard of gold

McCree doesn’t speak the first time he finds the human, but Sombra does her best to sweet talk him into letting her leave unharmed. Which she does, but she returns and tries to steal some of his gold horde, but is caught red handed. That’s when he first speaks:

“Stealing from a dragon? You are either very bold, or very ignorant, human.”

This freaks Sombra out a little, because his voice is deep and growling and nearly booms off of the cavern walls. Sombra tries to make up a noble reason for stealing gold, but when he demands the truth, she simply tells him his horde is very precious and she’s very fond of precious things. 

The dragon is very intimidating, but he only tells her to never return. Curious as to why she’s not immediately turned into a heap of black ashes, she follows him back to the lava pool and asks questions. Sombra thought the dragons were all slain. McCree huffs out smoke at this, but doesn’t answer.
