Hi – sorry to bother! I just saw a really cute mermaid Sombra/McCree drawing and I’ve read your MerCree and Sombra story and it was lovely!! But I was wondering if you had any headcanons for Mer!Mcsombra where Sombra is the mermaid? :) Thank you!

Me? Have Mermaid headcanons? Its more likely then you think.

Sombra’s tail is patterned after a lightning maroon clownfish with a deep lavender tail and round fins tipped with blue and pink. Black patterns are sprayed onto her scales as well.

McCree first finds her on the rocks around Gibraltar, and even then it’s only a glimpse before she disappears. He has to see her again, so he sets up bait to lure her back. Just pretty fish he’s sure she’ll like.

Sombra disables the trap and takes the fish. McCree finds the mermaid sprawled out on a rock while giving a cheeky grin and a wave. She tells him he’s going to have to do better then that if he wants to catch her.

So they begin a little dance of McCree luring her in and Sombra keeping just out of his reach. Little by little, the mermaid lets McCree close enough to keep conversations and eventually, swim with her in the water. 

They have their first kiss underwater, and when they surface, McCree says ‘I caught ya, darlin’.”
