For sure – the interest isn’t one sided by a long shot but Sombra’s a bit shy at first. It starts out unknowingly, with McCree catching glimpses of the woman every now and then, doing nothing remarkable. The one time that manages to completely catch him off guard is when he a few other are resting in a break room.
Sombra is alone, as always, off to the side and working on something. He’s part of a group conversation but eventually loses interest, sipping leisurely at his coffee while looking around the room. Jesse’s sights land on Sombra who’s focused on her holographic screens, typing away. She’s dressed casually, with a simple crop top and shorts and he always appreciates the sight of a beautiful woman. He finds himself watching her a bit too intently, and his eyes follow her movements as she stops her work, stretching her arms above her head, eyes closed as she works the cramps out of her muscles.
He’s so focused, apparently, that when someone in the group loudly calls his name, trying to get his attention, McCree’s grip slips and he drops his coffee right into his lap, earning the pitied gasps and outright laughter of the others. Luckily, it’s not scalding hot but it’s still embarrassing. Gratefully, he takes a paper towel from someone, wiping at his stained pants. As he attempts to clean himself, he chances a look at Sombra, who only grants him a small grin before she finishes stretching and returns to her work.
McCree feels like a fool but even for a moment, he swears he sees those unbearably blue eyes glance at him under dark lashes. If he can win a second look in his direction through clumsy acts, he wonders just what results using actual charm will bring him.
