• “lmao saaaaaame”
• his response sounds apathetic but as someone who suffers from depression and crippling anxiety, noctis is actually being incredibly serious.
• he’s just not good at showing his emotions, that’s all. so when his s/o brings up that grim a topic, his initial response is humor cause that’s honestly how he copes with his own issues.
• but when he realizes just how serious his s/o is being, he drops the aloof act and holds them in a tight embrace, murmuring sweet things into their ear as he drags them into bed with him.
• he lets them cry into his chest and combs his fingers through their hair as they sob. throughout the whole time he’s whispering compliments and telling funny stories about him and the guys, or little quirks he notices about his s/o when they don’t think he’s watching.
• thing is, he’s always watching them, lol. 
• while they cry, he puts both hands around their face and says, “you’re an amazing person, y/n – strut that around like the champ i’ve always known you to be.”

Prompto:

• he gets a little teary-eyed when he sees how broken his s/o is. as someone who deals with heavy insecurity and self-esteem issues, he understands how it feels. 
• he hugs them immediately, telling them that they mean the world to him, and that they’re the most beautiful person in the whole entire universe. 
• “y/n, you’re greater than the stars, than the astrals, than eos itself – and don’t you ever forget that!”
• he also shows them the many pictures he has of them, and tells in exact detail where the photo was taken, and what they were doing while he was taking that picture because that’s how much he loves them.
• later he takes them on a date to those places, and refuses to take a single picture or selfie without them smiling in it. 
• throughout the whole time he’s holding their hand and kissing their fingers, trying to make them feel better with his soft compliments about their personality and quirks.

Ignis:

• tbh, ignis doesn’t understand how they can feel so low about themselves. they’re literally the loveliest person he’s ever laid his eyes upon???
• he likes their peculiarities and habits! it’s what makes spending time with his s/o so much fun! the way they can make him feel so at peace and like he’s the luckiest man in the world is a miracle in itself. 
• even so, they’re not feeling at all like themselves, so he takes the initiative and turns on some soothing music. 
• he doesn’t care if they fight or shout, he’ll pull them into a slow dance and hold them against his warmth, nuzzling his nose against the curve of their neck and pressing light kisses against their ears and temple. 
• “you are simply stunning, my dear,” he’ll whisper in their ear as he kisses their cheek, “there is no other like you.”
• when they’ve calmed down, he makes their favorite dinner and listens to them talk. ignis may be a busy man, but for them, he’ll sacrifice all the time in the world.

Gladiolus:

• like ignis, he doesn’t understand their insecurities. what’s not to like about them? they’re cute, they’re funny, and they make him feel like the luckiest man alive! don’t they get that???
• initially he’ll be a tad bit ignorant because he sees literally no real flaw in them, but the raw emotion they show him shreds his heart to pieces.
• “y/n – you’re simultaneously the sexiest and gentlest person i’ve every had the honor of meeting,” he’ll say as he pulls them into a tight embrace, wiping away the tears that prick their eyes, “you should be proud of what you’ve got!”
• then he takes them out on a date and doesn’t stop telling dumb jokes and making stupid faces until they’re laughing so hard their stomach hurts.
• when they look at him with a big smile on their face, he softens and intertwines their fingers, kissing their wrist and hand as he murmurs enough compliments to make them sick with the cheesiness.
• he’s not just exaggerating, though. when gladio says that they’re his greatest treasure, he means it.
