In which peony has learned to laugh off certain foregone conclusions like the fact that people will make attempts on his life. However, a recent and VERY close call leaves him more rattled than he lets on. (Under a cut for length. Not really a fic so much as a summary that occasionally dips into prose and actual dialogue being exchanged.)
