I had the thought that Hugo might, perhaps, board the Tartarus somehow when they reach the Eye.  Maybe the power cuts out, the shields/barriers aren’t working, and an emergency lock-down has engaged. Rita and Pascal are frantically working to restore power when something starts ramming against the door sealing the bridge in an attempt to batter it open. Jade bolts for it and attempts to hold it shut.  His low light vision is far better than a normal human’s, thanks to his artificially enhanced eyes.  

Jade’s strength is much greater than his appearance would have one think, but he certainly can’t hold it for long.  Every muscle in his body is straining to the limit, and the door is still beginning to cave.  He yells for Luke to come help him hold it long enough for power to be restored. Unlike Jade, Luke is augmented far beyond any organic human’s capabilities.

(And then a big showdown ensues and things happen)

It isn’t until the fight is over that someone notices the bloodstains on Jade’s uniform.  Luke looks alarmed, but Jade just shrugs stiffly.  "It’s nothing to concern yourselves with. I simply reopened an old wound.“  In truth, the cause was twofold:  The incredible stress had, indeed, caused some of the scars around his artificial heart to bleed. Normally, such a thing should not happen.  However, the machine in his chest had revved itself up and boosted his strength, thereby allowing him to put a far greater amount of stress on his body than would normally be possible.
