Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).
Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
So what is changing?
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
Why are we doing this?
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
So what’s next?
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

I think all writers need a friend who will encourage their desire to write absolute garbage. Not necessarily something that is badly written, but like, stupid self indulgent bullshit. “Cringey” aus or crossover fanfics. Aus or crossover fics of your own ocs.
Writing that stuff is fun and is great practice, but sometimes I feel like “wow, this is hardly productive, why am I even writing this, who else would ever want to read this?” The answer is your friend who encourages your trash writing, that’s who. Write it for yourself and for them.
I think what non-spoonies tend to forget is that chronically ill people do not just get ill more often than other people, but are ill all the time. When we miss school or cancel appointments, it is not because we ‘felt a bit peaky again’ and decided to not go – we feel bad most of the time, but still do things anyway. A lot of us feel ill, in pain etc. all the time, and we cancel plans/take time off when we physically or emotionally cannot cope with the day or the things required of us. Our ‘good’ or ‘okay’ is a healthy person’s ‘awful’. We are consistently making more effort than ‘normal people’ in order to live and make a living, and we often make that effort at the expense of our health. And it is so hurtful and offensive when people we know/ friends/ family/ teachers etc. get frustrated and annoyed because they think we are not trying hard enough. We are always trying. We are always fighting. Sometimes it’s too much.
hell, I forget this. Sometimes when I’m really ill I think, “Why am I being such a baby about this? My boss goes to work when she’s sick,” and then (on good days, eventually) I remember that I am literally sick every single day of my life, and today I am much more sick,and it is not only not constructive but ridiculous to compare her cold with my cardiac dysfunction, cognitive failure and constant pain

what exactly does a low-maintenance rp partner mean? well… it means that I will never rush you for a reply ( ic or ooc ), meme or ask answer, or pretty much anything! take all the time you need, it really doesn’t matter to me. this isn’t a race, this is something that is done for fun! so, don’t feel obligated to do something or even be online, if you don’t want to. it doesn’t matter how long or fast it takes you to respond to me, if you’re my person, you’re my person. and if you go on hiatus, i’ll stick with you through it so when you come back it’s like nothing ever happened. never feel obligated to explain to me why it takes so long, i get it we all have other things we’re doing. some of us work full-time, some of us are in school full-time, some of us run multiple blogs and some of us just can’t find the will or motivation to write for a couple days on end… I never want you to feel pressured to interact/talk/associate with me. so, do what you need for yourself and just know i’ll be here in the background rooting for you!

But you know what’s been on my mind lately? How much culture schock the Bros would have with the Hunter.
Like one moment they’re having a blast at camp just talking about “in my world we do this and blah blah blah”
But the minute they are in battle with a let’s say a behemoth then the Hunter mounts it (I have watched a few streams and the mounting text can be really funny) just shouts “I’mma mount you like a B*TCH!!” While stabbing at the back.
The Bros (except for Gladio cause that guy would probably want to cut up huge ass monsters like they do) are currently having an internal crisis like how much of a hardcore life they live cause they don’t have technology and they are surrounded by things bigger than them that want to eat them.

Shortly after your arrival to this world, Noctis gave you access to what he called the Armiger. It was a strange, yet magical thing to you–to be able to pull your weapon out of thin air. Sure, it made things easier when you were riding in the Regallia cause, well, as you found out your greatsword…really didn’t fit in it’s storage space.
But this also gave you the chance to change weapons on the fly, in the middle of battle no less!
And this time was no exception, you willed away your greatsword only to call your dual blades into your hands. The five of you had pinned the griffin you had been sent to hunt in a small canyon, and the wall along side it was just the leverage you needed.
Taking off at a run from Gladio’s side you literally rushed up the wall and pushed off it, spinning in the air just enough to land right on the back of the griffin’s neck. It screeched in protest at it’s sudden rider, only to screech again as you plunged your blades into it with a loud battlecry.
It didn’t take you and the others long then to finish the beast off, and with a sigh you willed away your blades, and dusted off your hands.
“I will have to talk to the others when I get back home about this Armiger. It’s so damned hand–what?”
The look Ignis was giving you was one that you have grown to know well, but it usually wasn’t aimed at you. Normally, it was aimed at Noctis or Prompto before he started giving them a lecture, and you instantly had what felt like scout flies in your gut. You glanced over at the others a moment, and your brows knitted in confusion.
Noctis had his hand over his mouth, but his eyes were smiling as he stared at you.
Prompto just was staring at you with shock and awe.
And Gladio was doubled over, his shoulders shaking from laughter.
“Guys?”
“There has not yet been a time where I’ve had to ask you to refrain from doing something in battle, Hunter, but this–”
“Aw c’mon Iggy, I’ve taken down things that are about five times bigger than that.”
“That is not what I am referring to.” and Ignis’ scowl deepened. “Please allow me to finish.”
Swallowing hard you gently nodded your head, and it was then you noticed just a slight pull of a smile at the corner of his mouth.
“While we understand that you are accustomed to such battle tactics, might I suggest you use a–slightly different battle cry?”
Gladio snorted loudly as he was still doubled over, trying to hold back his laughter.
“Dude!” Prompto exclaimed, that look of awe still on his features.
“I think what Specs is getting at is–” Noctis removed his hand from his face, his voice filled with laughter. “I think you need to say something else other than ‘I’m going in dry!’”
That got Gladio to collapse to his knees, holding his abdomen as he laughed so loudly it echoed off the canyons walls.
Blushing you gently rubbed the back of your head. “I uh–I’ll think of something.”

I dont know why, but I had this really out of the blue urge, to look up some of my favorite GIFS of Severus Snape, from Harry Potter. By far, he’s still my most favorite, and loved character of the series <333 It was really oddly refreshing too, so I know I’ll definitely be sleeping wonderfully tonight~ >w<
(The best part, was FINALLY finding the GIF of him adjusting his cuffs, shortly before shoving Ron’s and Harry’s faces into their books from that one scene, that GIF is so unusually hard to find xD )
