You know what I don’t get?  When fanfic authors apologize for long chapters.  It’s like?  You gave me bonus content, for free, and you’re sorry about it?  Bruh.  I have already named my firstborn after you.  Dude.

You know what else I don’t get?  When they apologize for short updates.  It’s like: look at these new words I gave you!  Sorry I didn’t give you even more free words.  Bro, that’s at least two words that I did not have yesterday.  For free.  Dude.  Thank you.

And another thing: when people drop out of nowhere with a surprise update and then apologize for it taking a while.  Like, dude, I wasn’t expecting anything, and you gave me words.  I thought this fic was abandoned, but wait: there’s more.  You just popped in and reminded me that this is a Good Fic that I should probably reread.  You made my goshdarn day.

Basically fanfic writers are under no obligation to publish anything so when they do update it’s always a net positive because the story is longer now, and I have something to read, so thank you so much to everyone who writes fic at whatever pace or quantity they want.

Explain to me how I can BOTH agree wholeheartedly with this a a reader…

I don’t think he’s broke…but wouldn’t it be funny if he was just some cheap bastard? 🤣 Like the only thing he’s ever splurged on was his belt buckle and/or Peacemaker. Nothing else. (Well, possibly the flash grenades, too). His new interaction with Ashe about the bike makes me think he might be…kind of a thief. Or if he sees it, and it’s not “being used”, he’s gonna take it. 

I dunno, that just makes it so much funnier to me and makes me appreciate him more as a flawed character. He was kind of a Gary-Stu to me at times in the past. 

I really like your headcanon, but I also HC that he doesn’t get a lot of work as a bounty hunter – reason being, if he only does jobs that he considers ‘just’, doesn’t that mean he’d have to interact mostly with people who work with the law? But he’s a wanted man…so he probably gets like one job every once in a while. He may be SOUGHT for his skills but that doesn’t mean he wants to take those jobs (causes he sees unjust) … And then he spends what he does make on getting drunk off his ass or just getting around/possibly paying people off to not say anything to the authorities if they spot him. He can’t handle money well. 

That’s just my opinion, though. Just a silly headcanon b/c I like making fun of the characters too! But I do like your idea on how he may dislike how frivolous some wealthy people may be – that does seem like something that might irk him.

He doesn’t need much…just ammo, maybe a new pair of boots once in a while…cigs and alcohol…probably doesn’t spend much in a year. I’m starting to think McCree doesn’t do even the bounties he thinks are justified for the money. He probably takes the job and makes sure word gets out on how that bounty money was spent just to piss other hunters off.

• McCree has never thought of Ashe as ‘his type’
• McCree doesn’t care for the rich
• McCree has spent time in Ashe’s home, and put his feet up on her chaise
• McCree doesn’t bother to know what a chaise is, and dismisses it as a footrest
• McCree lost the keys to Ashe’s bike after he stole it. Who knows where it is now!
• McCree asks how Bob is doing, unprompted. Ashe doesn’t take kindly to it, but is civil through gritted teeth
• Ashe has a picture of McCree on her dartboard at the Deadlock base, which he teases her about as ‘flattering’
• McCree is begrudgingly impressed Ashe has managed to rebuild the Deadlock gang so much even after he left
• McCree mentions Ashe hates the diner’s food, and Ashe says ‘don’t get the coffee’
• McCree lived on a farm before joining Deadlock/going criminal

• don’t rush them to draw something. if you want something drawn fast, do it yourself.
• don’t like their style? whatever, it’s your opinion. but don’t tell them its bad!

• don’t hate an artist just because they only draw one thing, or draw all kinds of things. unless your paying them real hard CASH to draw for you, then you don’t have a say on what they are doing. actually…
• UNLESS YOU PAY THEM, YOU CANT TELL THEM WHAT TO DO AT ALL. PERIOD. END OF STORY.
• TREAT THEM LIKE HUMANS. NOT MACHINES. they need to eat, sleep, and mess around just like everyone else. give them a break.
• ART IS ART, WRITING, DRAWING, PAINTING, IT’S ALL ART! Don’t tell someone writing isn’t art, or singing, or painting, IT’S ALL A FORM OF ART!!
• artist are consistently improving. just because they might not be all that great now, does not mean they wont improve! stick by them, encourage them, no matter what!
• EVERYONE HAS THAT ONE WORK. every artist has that one piece of art that sucks, alright? EVERYONE. so, don’t judge an artist just by their one work of art that isn’t as good as the rest. we all mess up.
• and lastly, JUST TREAT THEM LIKE HUMANS, OK???????

‘your oc x Canon fanfiction is only valid if it’s good’ is bull shit. If it’s good wonderful! If it’s bad still wonderful! You put your heart in it and you took your own time to make something you wanted to see and you were kind and brave enough to share it.

Keep writing and enjoying the time you spent and if you want to improve your labor, you can always receive critique from friends or people who respect and appreciate what you’ve done. Don’t be discouraged if it’s bad. Your feelings for your fave character aren’t bad if you struggle with writing and this can go for art and drawings, too.

Do know that it is perfectly fine if you come to me should you feel lonely. I hope you understand that I must continue with my duties throughout the day, but that does not mean that I cannot work in the presence of your company. 

And my day is rather dull and boring at times. 

There is much paperwork I must collect and take to and from the archives, several meetings to attend with those that are so set in their ways that they are unwilling to change, and it seems to frustrate his Majesty to absolutely no end.

In a way I think it’s karma coming back to haunt the young king from all the previous meetings he thought he could just, not show up to….

But I digress.
