Prompto: You’re so jacked you have muscles on your back.
Gladio: Everyone has back muscles, Prompto.
Prompto: Nuh-uh. My back looks like the inside of a spoon.
Gladio puts his head in his hands. “Ignis isn’t even a character, Noct.”
Noct frowns, squinting down at their figures while gently rolling his dice between his palms. “Okay. Well. I seduce Ignis’s character.”
“His name is Ifrit,” Ignis supplies helpfully.
“Great. Ifrit. Let me do it.”
With a long-suffering sigh, Gladio waves his hand towards Noct. “Fine. Roll for it. That’s a charisma check.”
Prompto grimaces as he looks over Noct’s shoulder. “Aw, buddy, roll high. Your charisma is shit.”
Admirably, Noct manages to flip Prompto off while still shaking his die with both hands. “I’m charismatic as fuck,” he says, and he lets the die skid across the table. It skips around, falling first on a 2, then an 18, and then hovers dangerously close to a 3. And then, miraculously, it rolls a final time, and the gold print 20 shines up from the middle of the table.
With a whoop, Prompto pumps his fist in the air. “Yes! Critical seduction!”
Noct grins at Ignis from across the table, stretching out his foot to tap at the side of his calf. To his credit, Ignis only blushes a little bit.
Gladio blinks. He looks like he’s aged about five years. “Well. Okay. You fucking win, then.”
Prompto slams his hands on the table. “What?” he cries. “But I wanted to fight! I have all these spells! Let me fight the final boss!”
“Ignis was the final boss,” Gladio groans, and he puts his head in his hands.
“Ifrit,” Ignis reminds him, smiling benignly down at his character sheet.
Gladio sinks down in his chair. “I’m never DMing for you guys ever again.”
McCree and Sombra weren’t really expecting or pressuring their only child to have children – so when she announces a grandchild on the way, both are excited – McCree more visibly than Sombra. The two love having any of their grandkids over – it makes them feel young to see little ones running around again. During holidays, their daughter and all of her family come over and even with all the chattering and noise, McCree and Sombra always share a private, knowing look – there’s no place they’d rather be.
Any place they live will always be in a place where there’s lots of room to roam, and not really on the inside. McCree’s always preferred ranch style houses while Sombra’s always been used to living out of a studio or one room kind of deal so as long as she’s safe, she doesn’t really care, though she does appreciate the sunlight that Jesse’s preferred housing usually brings in. They also both love the porch that their eventual home comes with – something that wraps around the whole house – in the front, they’ve got a swinging bench, and they love sitting out there at sunset, watching the sky turn into all those brilliant colors.
♒ – cooking/food headcanon
Sombra’s not great at cooking – the most she knows how to make are eggs and anything that can be included with eggs. McCree, however, while not a culinary artist, learned some of his favorite recipes out of sheer stubbornness. He grew tired of the food served in Blackwatch/Overwatch’s mess halls so he took matters into his own hands, wanting some flavor back in his diet. It just so happens that a lot of his favorite dishes coincide with Sombra’s tastes. So anything he likes to cook, she’ll eat happily, especially his take on pozole.
Hello! ❤ I’m always open to chat, especially about fav ships! Good for you – I know how hard it can be sometimes to just be more social but you’re doing great! <33
Mercyhog: Angela cannot cook – at all. This woman spent most of her life studying, working, and worrying about others that she often forgot to tend to herself – including feeding herself and learning how to do so. Of course, she knows what’s good for her but when it comes to trying to prepare anything beyond a sandwich, she’s not going to be of much use.
Mako, however, was a solar farmer at one point and while he’s no five-star chef, he does know how to use produce effectively. One of Angela’s favorite dishes is his vegetable stirfry. At first, he almost regrets offering to make something for her, because it’s been so long. But after seeing her scarf her food down and ask for seconds, it’s one of his favorite things to do for her when they have the time (and resources). That and Angela likes watching him cook. She feels special when she realizes she’s probably one of very few people who have seen Mako just relaxed and cooking.
◉ – Any other question of your choosing
Mcsombra: “I was wondering who will be in charge of bandaging/sanitizing wounds for the other?” I like to think that they switch off – McCree has more technical experience with it, having been through first aid and emergency trainings and always being on the field where his fellow Blackwatch agents were in need of aid. Everything Sombra knows has been through first hand experience – she learned what she needed off the internet and always applied her first aid to herself. It’s passable enough though McCree swears she’s better at it and prefers her to look after him, even if he has to give her a few pointers. (He also really likes her first aid because it always ends with a smooch to his cheek ♥
).
Mercyhog: “how Mercy and Roadhog would react to one another being harmed in battle and then tending to their wounds”
Mercy’s first instinct is to save Mako in whatever way she can. Obviously that would mean without being under direct fire but she doesn’t have her pistol for nothing. Mercy’s pistol has awful recoil sometimes but she’s trained for basic combat and can get decent shots. Mako is usually so stubborn that he’ll walk himself to where ever they need to get to, despite Mercy’s pleas for him not to do so. When in safety, she asses the damage and gets to work, mostly using her Caduceus staff and her knowledge of emergency aid. All throughout the process, she’ll check his pulse, just touch him: his arm, his forehead, something to let him know that she’s with him.
Mako simply shields Angela with his body, movements precise, cold, and calculating to any fool that dared to hurt the doctor. Once the threat is dealt with, he immediately takes her into his arms and finds them a safe place so she can rest and he can take a look at her injuries. If she’s unconscious, Mako tries to remember all the things Angela taught him when it came to first aid. If she’s awake, she will try to talk him through the process, and while he may remain quiet for the entire time, he’s just focused – trying not to lose his composure when he knows it wouldn’t help. Once she’s more s table, Roadhog would let her rest, bringing her anything she needed but also letting one finger trail down her cheek, silently letting her know that he’s glad she’s alright.
Growing up with a gang, Sombra is used to crude attempts at ‘flirting’ and up-front proposals for meaningless romps, loud catcalls and shouts of highly inappropriate comments toward her body. She grows apathetic toward intimacy – convinced that romance is some BS invented for novelas and cheap stories.
So when she meets McCree and firsthand experiences his courting, she’s…not really sure how to respond. She almost thinks it’s some sort of joke because she’s never actually seen people do this sorta thing. But a tip of his hat, keeping his respectful distance…and he made comments – but never about her body. The ones that really struck a chord with her are his comments made about her eyes ‘Reckon I could stare into them eyes forever and never get tired’ and about her smile ‘Asides from makin’ ya look gorgeous, that smiles says ya might be up ta somethin’’
She’s been called ‘guapa’ ‘chula’ and ‘hermosa’ but none of it comes close to being called “darlin’” for the first time. She would trade thousands of those meaningless names for the sweet terms of endearment he refers to her by.
Even well into their relationship, McCree always surprises her by still being such a sap. He’ll randomly bring her flowers, sweetpeas, because they remind him of her or just kiss her sweetly and confess how much he missed her. Sombra’s always thankful that McCree was the one that showed her romance clearly isn’t dead.
Mei and Hanzo both don’t sleep very well. After been sleeping for nearly ten years and discovering the death of her team upon awakening, it’s been very difficult for Mei to ever truly settle back down into the pattern of a restful sleep. Both she and Hanzo suffer from intense nightmares, sometimes turning into full night terrors. Hanzo dreams vividly of the day he struck down his brother and the guilt from being the only one to survive Eco-point Antarctica continues to haunt Mei.
Thus, the pair don’t sleep often, or at least very long. They attempt but most of the time, it just doesn’t work out. This is one of the things that helps them get closer, as strange as it is. One night, the two bump into one another, Mei holding a steaming cup of tea while Hanzo walks around in an attempt to get tired and sleep from exhaustion. They don’t talk about their experiences but it’s nice to have someone up while everyone else is asleep. She offers him tea – he accepts and they sit in comfortable silence.
★ – sad headcanon
When Mei first discovers Hanzo’s attempt to murder his brother, it breaks a lot of her trust in him. Truthfully, she’s scared and she wonders just what kind of person he really is. He seems rather passive, as passive as a mercenary can be. And she’s never sensed anything ‘off’ about him. But murder is murder. Hanzo confessed his crime to her, wanting to be honest and while it hurts him to see her look at him with a sort of fear and disdain, he knows he can’t blame her. The two don’t talk for a while afterward, with the two parting ways. Mei returns to work with Winston at Gibraltar and Hanzo continues his wandering, trying to perfect his skills. The solitude eats away at Hanzo, this time not self-imposed, while Mei finds herself conflicted from missing Hanzo but wondering if she ever really knew him at all.
✿ – Sex headcanon
Hanzo has never really been interested in more carnal affairs, no matter what sort of stereotypes people have of him. Mei, too, has been more interested in her scientific and scholarly work than to spend time on more physical pleasures. But when things grow more serious between the two, it feels right for them. Hanzo admits his attraction for her and Mei replies in kind. Intimacy starts out a bit slow for them, shyness and worries somewhat interfering, but eventually molds into passionate couplings, not too frequent, but most enjoyable every time.
It’s still so weird for Sombra to actually age. Like, she knew she’d get older and she may have this air of being untouchable, but her paranoia really had her feeling like the next time she got caught, she’d be done for. To actually be growing older, with someone she cares about no less, is still pretty mind blowing for her.
McCree takes to aging pretty gracefully – he likes the peace and quiet that’s often granted to people as they grow older. He minds his business and expects for people to leave him be. He likes to spend his time looking into hobbies he never had a chance or time to check out when he was a vigilante or in Blackwatch, one of them being horse-riding and rearing. He doesn’t own a horse himself but he does help out on a neighboring ranch that breeds horses.
He often has to help Sombra fall into the steady process of growing older. Sombra stays involved with the world and all the shady deals going on unknown to the public – anything particularly devestating, she always feels the need to research more and reveal, even though McCree wants her to ease up on her hacking and just relax. The last thing he wants is for them to have to uproot and go into even more hiding.
Cooking for Sombra and teaching her how to make things other than eggs is one way to pass the time. She isn’t a master but she’s gotten a lot better since her younger days. And while they’re not as nimble as they were in their thirties, they love to be active. Long walks, occasional horse rides, and trips to no where in particular. In McCree’s words, “let’s enjoy what we never could” is how he and Sombra spend their golden days.
I got a few suggestions to name her Ana. Personally, I don’t think it’s a great idea? Like yeah sure Mccree looks up to Ana Amari but I don’t think that’s enough to name this little girl Ana. Think of all the pressure she’d experience to live up to the name? No, I want her to have room to grow and be her own individual. I decided that Sombra names her Imelda Mccree, Mccree having no influence at all in naming her. Why? Well, he wasn’t there when she was born, and from my own experience the father should never be trusted to name anyone, not even the dog, and especially not the cat.
Anyway!! Imelda was born sometime in October. By the time she starts to develop memories and speak, Overwatch has already been re-established. Mccree finds sanctuary in Overwatch, but because Imelda is so young (and he has a criminal background, right?), all he offers is information and tactical advice (some of it coming from Sombra) at first. Imelda meets and becomes close to Winston and Pharah, sparking her initial interest in aerodynamics and physics (shes a prodigy just like her mama). Angela picks up on this and convinces Mccree to send her to a private school, somewhere away from the Overwatch environment so Imelda is not distracted by the chaos. While Imelda is away, Mccree returns to service, planning his time off around his daughters schooling schedule. When they spend time together they’ll take turns watching old westerns and sci-fi/horror anthology series.
There’s a lot I wanna write here but I don’t want this to get too long, so just a quick summary of her early childhood for now. All of this is subject to change…just like the canon lmaaooooo
So aaaagggeeesss ago @paintcoon posted some really cool ffxv writing prompts that were set in a modern AU and I said that once I wasn’t so jetlagged I would start writing again and do a couple of these. Well I might take forever in delivering, but I never break a promise.
Prompt – “
Your dog brought back every stick you threw in like five seconds so this time you wanted to make it count and threw the stick as hard as you could. Little did you know that Gladio was jogging through the park and got nailed on the head by the stick causing your bigass dog to jump him, knocking him to the ground.
I’m going to try and do this challenge that I came across on Twitter where you draw the same character in different outfits every day in August, and I chose Prompto as my model~ ( ^ u ^ ) Knowing me, I probably won’t make every single, but I definitely want to try!!
Self ship culture is— uh,,, self ship culture is um,,, fuckin,,, self ship culture is sitting up at 3 in the morning looking at cute pics of your f/o because they’re adorable and you love them dearly and you can’t believe how lucky you are to be with them??
First, Happy Birthday, anon! I hope your day has been full of delicious cake, good friends, and birthday wishes ❤
Good question! I’m not sure Satya or Hanzo are the type to celebrate birthdays. I think they’re too busy with their own concerns to devote time to celebrating them getting a year older. They might be aware of it but I doubt they do anything for themselves.
I think I could see Hanzo celebrating her birthday though, if he ever found out what it was (since he would never ask and she would never tell). He might surprise her in this fashion but he’d stick to something simple and ensure it’s something Satya actually enjoys. He might bring her a book she’s been talking about, some new teas, or even a very carefully arranged bouquet of blue chrysanthemum.
Once Hanzo makes the move to give her something, Satya will always make sure she gives something back, even if it’s not her birthday, because she feels it’s good to repay a kindness. She’ll get him things that he’s talked about in the past, even if he hasn’t said he’d particularly want it. He once mentioned that he did calligraphy as a teen and she ended up giving him some new brushes.
Birthday gifts when they’re romantically involved would always follow with a chaste kiss to the cheek. Nothing fancy between these two but they’re quite happy. ^//^
I vaguely recall getting a message about this once but I’m not sure…I’ve got a terrible memory. ;;
I think I can post some over on Ao3 but they might all be lumped into a general ‘various one-shots’ kind of story since I’m kinda picky about what gets posted on to my fic account. If you wanna send another message with which works in particular you’d want to see on ao3, I can do that for you. ^^
But this goes to anyone – if in the future, you’d want the piece on ao3, just shoot me a message. I don’t mind ❤
(( #42 – Star-crossed lovers + # 5 – One night stand and falling pregnant AU ))
First thoughts – does this actually have to be an AU?? Haha, this sounds pretty close to what could happen in the actual story line. Star crossed lovers means lovers who, due to circumstances, will never be able to truly be together: that certainly sounds like Mcsombra to me, as sad as that may seem. ;-; We’ve got a vigilante who might return to Overwatch and a criminal hacker whose motives are shrouded in mystery to the rest of the world but has Talon’s label all over her.
Suppose that they did meet for a one night stand – maybe because McCree still doesn’t know who she really is. They just happen to be at the same bar one night and Sombra already knows who he is. He seems interested – she’s certainly interested. So they sleep together.
Fast forward a few months later, Sombra finds out she’s pregnant. Who else could be responsible? Either way, it just wasn’t meant for them. Based on her latest sleuthing, McCree has been considering rejoining Overwatch. Even with her loyalties not actually with Talon, they’d be at opposite ends of the battlefield if they ever met again.
She can’t bring herself to get rid of the baby; what fault of is it of theirs? But she knows for a fact that this won’t remain a secret as long as she’s with Talon. Based on the things she knows (and has seen), such as with Widowmaker, she leaves cold turkey, making sure to get rid of anyone who might possibly have a trace on her. Like hell she’ll let them touch her or her kid. Leaving Castillo is inevitable as well but it’s for her own good…and the good of her unborn baby.
Forward another few years, Sombra watches from her desk as her little one sleeps on the couch. Being paranoid for herself was tiring enough – being paranoid for two is exhausting. Still, she can’t imagine her life without them. Every day the kids resembles that Outlaw more and more. It often leaves her wanting: wanting her child to be able to meet their father, wanting that sort of stability in her life.
However, Sombra knows that it’ll never be. Even if he wanted to somehow touch base again, he’d immediately be on his guard (understandably) when he realized she’d been with Talon. The closest thing she has now is setting up a plan that will ensure her child will be reunited with their father should anything ever happen to her. That’s all that matters at this point.
I’m sure there’s tons of these floating around but I got this from dA after asking a friend about their ships – I thought they were super cute/fun and would love to share these. Feel free to reblog or to send some symbols in! =) It can be about a single character or a ship – I’m good with whatever! ❤

McCree and Sombra are no strangers to death – they’re very well acquainted with it, actually. So when they start getting older, talking about their passing isn’t as morbid or unwelcome as it seems. They regret not having more time with another, like knowing each other earlier in life but they treasure the time they’ve had. McCree is older than Sombra by a few years and old bad habits had really made aging for him difficult. He and Sombra seemed to have this quiet understanding that he would probably be the first one to go. So one morning when Sombra doesn’t wake up, McCree, who has never liked being thrown off by curve balls, completely breaks down. It takes him a long time to recover after that. But even then, his smiles seem empty and eyes dull compared to when Sombra was around.
♡ – romantic headcanon Genji and Sombra like to leave little notes in their respective languages around for the other to find. Usually, it’s something a simple as ‘I love you’ but sometimes they can get a bit more detailed – maybe ‘I love the color of your eyes’ – ‘I love your smile’ – ‘I love the way you laugh’. It started out as a challenge to try and encourage the other to learn their language only it’s devolved into simply a sweet gesture that can easily bring up their spirits on a bad day.
☆ – happy headcanon Genji and Sombra are most happy when they feel like they can just be themselves around the other. Genji’s not sad by any means but sometimes he feels like he was forced to give up otherwise innocent things he loved because enjoying them might mean bringing back horrible memories.
One thing that Sombra reintroduced to him was karaoke. When she surprises him with a trip to a karaoke box, he’s almost hesitant, until he sees her loosen up, singing awfully accented Japanese to popular songs. It takes a bit, but as he finally breaks into laughter, Sombra watches in silent mirth at hearing him laugh so freely. Though he’s wearing his visor and helm, she can tell he’s smiling. Even as Genji takes the mic to ‘show her how it’s done’, she’s more than happy to see he’s enjoying himself.
McCree likes to take Sombra to rodeos – he’s always been a big fan of horses but obviously couldn’t have one of his own so rodeos are the next best thing. Sombra’s not so into it but she likes seeing McCree’s eyes light up in excitement as they watch the cowboys attempt to stay on the broncos. Hearing him cheer will always make her smile.
Sombra loves parkour – this is a sentiment McCree does not share but he does get on her case about it. She never tells him when she feels like doing it so it drives him up the wall when he finds out that she went out – he fears that one day she’ll end up hurt or worse and he won’t be there to help. However, he can’t deny the way he stands there slack jawed when he sees her scaling a building like it’s nothing and hurdling over the rooftops.
Because of their statuses as wanted criminals/outlaws, Sombra and McCree don’t get to see one another very often. Sometimes it’ll be months before they can get together and even then, they’ll only have a day or two to really enjoy the other’s company.
But when they do get together, they get so elated and whispers of each others names leave their lips. Sombra loves to press kisses anywhere her lips can reach on McCree’s face, covering him with purple remnants of her smooches while McCree loves to grab Sombra and spin her around.
Oh my, anon…this is a family oriented blog! *shot* AND I’M SORRY – I made myself sad with that headcanon…so let’s go!
✿ – Sex headcanon
Sombra’s a natural-born teaser. This, of course, carries itself over to their more intimate times. Anything that Sombra can do to get McCree flushed and riled up is A+ material in her book. This includes a lingering touch, an extra spray of a perfume he enjoys, a crook of her eyebrow, and that classic smirk of hers.
However, while McCree is the epitome of a southern gentleman, he gets into the habit of retribution quick. He manages to find one of Sombra’s weak spots, which happens to be a small patch of skin above her right elbow. When she feels like being mean, he’ll nibble at the spot, causing her to melt. Combining this with some murmurs directly into her ear about what he plans to do in that accent of his, she might as well be a puddle.
McCree grew up on a ranch where his love of horses and cowboy culture came from. He spent hours upon hours sitting on the fence of his adoptive father’s field, watching the animals run. He’d even helped raise a colt or two, which were some of the best memories he had growing up. His fondness for wearing cowboy hats also came from his adoptive father, who wore one similar to his one in adulthood. He loved it when his pa would place the hat on his head, even just for a few minutes – it made him feel like a real cowboy.
Sombra grew up in one of Mexico’s many overcrowded orphanages during the crisis. At the age of 6, when she started attending school with the other orphans, she would leave the classroom, finding it boring, and instead sneak into the computer lab, finding more interest in manipulating the machine than anything the dull teachers tried to teach her. The only times she would actually leave the lab were to head to the library, in order to teach herself how to read so she could better understand what the computer could offer her.
At first, Sombra’s sleeping habits (or lack thereof) make McCree’s anxiety flare up. She has never felt safe enough to just let herself sleep for very long but when she sees McCree sleeping, she envies him, wondering how he can just let his guard down for hours a day. When he first suggests that they sleep together, she refuses. After some coaxing, promises of keeping her safe, and extra security protocols, Sombra allows herself to settle in his arms.
McCree is a hugger – he loves holding onto something while he sleeps – in this case, he falls asleep easier when he feels Sombra in his arms and usually slips into sleep with his face nestled into her neck.
Sombra is a warmth-hog and luckily, McCree is a human radiator so it works for both of them. All she has to do is tuck her feet between his thighs to keep them warm and let him ensconce her in his arms and finding sleep is much easier.
◉ – Any other question of your choosing
(
headcanon about how do they react to being one of them is on the other side of the world temporally?)
McCree is always worried about Sombra when she’s not with him. He wonders if she’ll be caught on the days they just so happen to be far apart. It’s not that he doesn’t believe her capable to handle herself, but he does feel better knowing he can keep an eye on her. Beyond that, he just plain misses her – he sleeps easier when she’s with him and being affection starved most of his life has left him wanting.
Sombra also misses McCree as well but can usually handle the separation a bit easier. This is because she is the one who can send McCree messages and not the other way around. Every communication channel she creates is immediately deleted afterward to avoid anyone honing in on her signal (or his location). She sends him updates, sometimes pictures, and always messages telling him that she misses him. So even though he’s far away, she can still somewhat keep in touch. But over time, she gets spoiled, and hopes he returns safely back to her arms.
