Okay I’m not one to compare Gladio and Ignis to the “Mom and Dad” of the group but I swear these two convos made me think of the whole: you ask your dad for something and he says “go ask your mom” and then you go ask your mom and she says “go ask your dad” crap *pulls hair out*
I restarted Skyrim recently and I forgot how much crap they make you go through before they let you meet Paarthurnax. And then you get up there and he’s like “but you didn’t come here to talk to an old dov.”
Buddy. Pal. Friend. That is the entire reason why I am here, let me love you.
Always reblog art! No one sees it if it’s liked. Help circulate an artist’s hard work!
OW
True tho
Reblog any orginal post, be it a story, Art, Youtube. if you actually like it then share it. likes only go so far
This is accurate af for me most of my stuff gets likes and I lowkey feel like my stuff isn’t good enough for reblogs. 😅
^This.
With tumblr’s sucky “best stuff first” update, this is now more important than ever. Every small artist who wasn’t already tumblr-famous is feeling this update in a very real way. It’s depressing to feel that I suddenly suck at drawing (even more than I used to), but that’s what it currently feels like. My art is dying on my blog. So for the love of everything, PLEASE REBLOG ART. PLEASE.
This goes for everything people make, art isn’t just drawings it’s edits, poems and so much more.
I enjoy likes and all
But a like and reblog gets me so giddy and happy on my art
Like, you are sharing my creation with your followers
That’s so flattering… Please share other people’s art, guys.
As part of my diety!Sombra AU…a very chivalrous Monster Hunter carrying a goddess unused to using human legs to get some proper clothing. (And respectfully looking away, despite the teasing the goddess is doing). ♥~(‘▽^人)
A Ko-fi reward for Anonymous who requested McSombra having a moment while slow dancing. Thanks for the hot cocoa, doll! I hope you enjoy this intimate little dance.
It strikes her like a match along a matchbox. The rough, scratchy environment ignites a flame that flares out before settling into its natural shape. It burns her blood as she contemplates.
Love is such a lost concept. There are tools, and far away allies along with unsure enemies. There are men who warm her bed. There are those she drinks with and leaves in the morning.
He is entirely out of her grasp, yet nestled deep in the cavity of her chest. What she once feared to be a tumor now behaves like a valve of her heart.
“Darlin’,” his sleepy murmur rises. “What’s wrong?”
She turns, almost smirking were it not for the 3 AM air. At the window, she stands with her arms crossed. Her gaze falls back to his sleepy figure in her bed.
“Nothing, vaquero.” She says in a hushed voice, but it sounds soft and trembling tonight. “Go back to sleep.”
As if she never spoke, McCree sits out of the covers. His bare feet pad across the floor, before finding her. Standing before her, she looks up. His disheveled hair falls into his eyes like a sin. The still waking up honey irises look to her with worry and wonder.
“Olivia,” he murmurs, which she immediately shushes.
She unfolds her arms to take his hands. Quietly, he starts shifting her grasp. In a slow second, he wraps his metallic arm around her lower back. His flesh hand interlocks with hers, and raises slightly as he brings her against him. Chest to chest, as if they’re making love once more.
“Jesse?”
“I want to dance with you,” he says, almost desperately pleading. “I want to hold you again.”
She would roll her eyes and tease him for such a romantic want, but she doesn’t want anything else but this. Quietly falling against him, her cheekbone finds his shoulder. His arm holds her waist gently.
They sway their feet in a weak form of slow dancing. It holds no meaning but to move slow and together. His breath touches into her hair as her own falls across his collarbone. Her one hand clutches his other shoulder, holding on for dear life.
It’s like coming home to rest. Upon his chest, his strong heartbeat pulses into her cheek. A sign of struggle and want and need. As strong as his arms are, she can feel the trembling weakness for her.
He must hear her pathetic little heart. The trouble on her face isn’t hiding tonight, when usually no one knows what emotions run through her. There is solitude, but there is isolation. She felt the second one the most when he left, only after he starting coming back to her.
Her tongue moves, as if baring great chains. The flame still burning within her blood holds her captive until her voice breaks through.
“Te amo, Jesse.”
It cracks her lungs and freezes her mind, but the words free her chest. Their dance doesn’t stop, but McCree leans down to press a kiss into her hair. His hands tighten for just a moment.
“Never thought I’d hear you say that,” he chuckles, before touching another kiss along her head.
If you’ve ever wondered how reposting hurts artists- yesterday I found a post from 2012ish featuring one of my Sherlock/Doctor Who pieces. That post had 17,604 notes. It wasn’t my post. My post of that art had 0 notes.
Apparently I saw the post once when it was at 6k because an artist I admired reblogged it, but at that stage I was very unwell & not experienced enough with Tumblr to realise what effect it might have.
Looking through the notes now I see that in the six years since then-
Several people got the design as a tattoo.
A number liked it enough to want custom designs but didn’t know how to contact me so that’s approximately £300 I didn’t get a chance to earn.
Someone used that art in the front cover of a comic by accident and while the company fixed it after I contacted them that’s exposure that it’s far too late to capitalise on now.
If you like an artwork that you find off tumblr, please, please I am begging you search for the artist’s name and see if they do actually have a Tumblr you could reblogged from instead. If you’re an artist search your username(s) every so often to see if your work has been taken.
A few hundred quid might not seem like a lot, but that’s a few months of income for me
occasionally do a reverse image search of your art too, to see if it pops up anywhere it shouldn’t
Im planning to not sell these anyways- but just a limited amount cause of luggage weight limit + my other belongings LOL
My original idea was to just put these in packs and gift them out if I meet/made any friends on Anime mid west uu, the rest is probably mailed to friends– if I have left overs I might do an attempt to give it all away ;w; will the receivers pay the mailing cost be ok? and how im gonna grasp a guessing amount to print before I leave OTL is what im struggling..
currently im also planning to print the sleepy noct piles – A6 and A4 size
A6 size you will get one each and A4 size is you can free choose 2 until the one runs out – so you get 6 in total uu?
For now its just ideas swirling in my head ;; if im gonna do actual mailing it gotta be mid July and August ;w;–I might also think serious to open a online store ;w;
So over the past 10-15 years, as I’ve been trying to branch out, grow a following and sell commissions, there’s one phrase I’ve heard more than any other.
“I’d love to support you, but I have no money.”
And you know, I get that. I understand. I don’t have any either. But here’s the secret. The most powerful and useful thing you can do to support an artist? It doesn’t cost a penny. Reblog their posts, signal boost their commissions, advertise their patreon./ If you have commissioned them, or do support their patreon? Write a review, tell your friends, share their links. Keep circulating the tapes.
Every post is an artist laying themselves bare before you. You have the power to make them into somebody. You can make them into a big name, you can help bring them an income. All you have to do is share.
Here’s a handy infographic.
If artists get only likes, they never get any exposure. They find no followers, they make no money, and feel worthless.
But with reblogs, who knows how far they could reach? New people could see their work and follow them, and maybe one person will spot that commissions post or patreon promo, and maybe offer to help support them. And it didn’t even cost those followers a penny to reblog the post.
So please, anyone out there. If you enjoy an artist’s work and can’t afford to give any monetary support, you can give them something more powerful. A voice.
And authors, too. Please reblog and share author commissions!
To use the first 200 reblogs of this post as an example:
That orange dot is OP! Look at how far those first few reblogs spread this post!
Can I also add!!!!!!
This doesn’t work if you repost art.
Especially when you remove the credit, you break the web of connections. Only only only ever repost an artist’s context if you have ALREADY asked them and they have ALREADY given EXPLICIT permission
As for DVa x Soldier 76, I’m neutral. I don’t hate it – don’t love it. ^^ I prefer DVa with Lucio and I prefer Soldier with Reaper, but it’s so neat that as a fandom, the entire roster can be shipped with nearly everyone, thus resulting in a lot of really cool fan art.
I doodled a sketch of my and @loverofscythe‘s umbreon charas bc I love them and need them to love each other and he ended up polishing the sketch ;o; look at them ugh they look so gOOD…
I don’t think I’ve ever drawn Pokespe!Guzma before and the latest chapter had some nice panels, so I did a few re-draws! Thank you @illuminatescanlations for the scans!
Leveraged an inventory of established fictional character and setting elements to generate a disruptive custom-curated narrative entertainment asset.
I worked in HR, handling applications and interviews, and if someone turned in that string of techno babble nonsense, I would have rejected them out of hand.
A resume doesn’t need to sound fancy or overly technical, it needs to tell us why we should hire you.
“Independent novelist/writer” is more than sufficient here. If you want to express the skills that fan fiction taught you, something like, “creative writing, editing, and publication,” will get you a lot further than… Whatever that just was.
A resume should be tailored to the position, if you can afford the time and energy for that. But if not, then just think about what writing got fandom taught you. How to respond to criticism, how to present a professional pubic face, how to correct punished mistakes, creative thinking, project planning, persuasion via emotional leverage, html formatting, office suite fluency.
There are a lot of actual, marketable skills that go into fan fiction.
