Who said “I love you” first
Mercy was the one who told Hanzo she loved him first. It was a quiet confession, late one evening when they’d gone out. Hanzo had begun to admit that while he was happy with Angela, he couldn’t help but feel like he didn’t deserve it after everything he did. They’d been going steady for quite some time and Angela felt it was time that Hanzo knew the extent of her feelings, so at the very least, he knew that she was just as happy with him. He doesn’t say the exact words, but he lets her know that he cares for her deeply.
Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background
Mercy has a picture of Hanzo sleeping as her background photo and Hanzo has a picture of Angela playing with their adopted cat.
Who buys the other cheesy gifts
After Mercy discovered that Hanzo occassionally did yoga to relax, she bought him a pajama shirt that said ‘Namast’ay in bed’ – it took him a bit to get the joke but he found it quite amusing. It’s been his go-to shirt when he sleeps.
Who initiated the first kiss
Mercy initiated the kiss. They’d gone on a small vacation for the holidays since Mercy had a bit of free time. Up until that point, hugs and hand holding were their go-to. They’d been huddled together outside on the balcony of their rented cabin and staring out over the scenery when it started snowing, which prompted them to talk about their homes growing up during the winter. Hanzo looked so at peace for once when he talked about his childhood. Mercy couldn’t help it. She leaned in once he stopped speaking, pausing just before she kissed him, as if asking for permission, and it was Hanzo who met her the rest of the way.
Who kisses the other awake in the morning
Mercy, since she usually wakes up first or ends up staying awake most of the night. She doesn’t kiss him awake but she likes to kiss him regardless. He always looks so serene.
Who starts tickle fights
Mercy starts them – she likes to see in what other ways she can get Hanzo to laugh or smile. Hanzo doesn’t push her off but he will attempt to deflect her hands, even if he can easily get her to stop.
Who asks who if they can join the other in the shower
Both are pretty sure about making sure they have explicit permission before joining the other for a shower. They don’t tend to get raunchy when bathing, but it’s just another excuse to be close to one another.
Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch
Hanzo is the cook between them, even if he isn’t a five-star chef. Mercy enjoys his cooking – it’s usually a balanced meal with lots of vegetables involved or something that will be light on her stomach. She especially loves it when he prepares her tea while she’s up working late.
Who was nervous and shy on the first date
Hanzo was mostly nervous because he has extremely limited experience with dating and he truly wanted to impress the doctor. Things had been rocky between them because of her relationship to Genji so when they started geting along and he developed interest in her, he’d always second-guessed himself. That carries over to their first date as he’s careful about what he says and does. Mercy just tells him to calm down – the anxiety will kill him, she jokes, but she does want to at least have a good time with him. Genji told her that his brother might act this way, so she takes it slow with him, relieving some of his stress.
Who kills/takes out the spiders
Neither Hanzo or Mercy have issues taking out spiders, though Mercy will ask Hanzo to handle those she feels are too big.
Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk
Mercy doesn’t drink and Hanzo has been avoiding sake but when he does manage to get tipsy, while he isn’t loud, he can become more affectionate with Angela. In a way, it’s nice, but she makes sure that it goes nothing beyond a kiss or two because she doesn’t want him to do anything he’ll regret.
