♥️ “You make my heart beat so quick.”

Insomnia at winter had one of the most beautiful sceneries ever with the frosted veil of snow upon the immense towering skyscrapers and the overall dark look of the city at night. It was truly a work of art.

What made the walk even more interesting, beside the chance to finally walk hand in hand donning their winter clothing, was the holiday decorations hanging above their heads and in every shop and store they passed by.

Casting a look at him fixing his scarf over his rose tinted nose, Carmen gave him a sweet smile and pointed at the coffee shop a few feet away. Ignis gave her hand a squeeze through the thickness of their gloves to convey his agreement when a rush of cold wind took them by surprise.

Despite the thickness of her thighs and coat, Carmen shivered with an audible whine, curling on herself to avoid most of the impact… Until Ignis pulled her to his chest, shielding her whole body under the protection of his longer coat. He stood the onslaught of the chilly breeze on his back as his bigger frame and hold on her kept her warm.

Ignis breathed and looked down upon feeling her arms circling his waist, the side of her face pressing onto the spot between his chest and shoulder.

As the gust of wind faded, they remained like that for a couple of seconds more. Carmen took the advantage to feel more of what her ears picked up and moved back enough to untangle her arms about him and rest her hands over his chest, right where his heart was pounding.

“What happened to you, darling?”

Carmen said with humor in her voice, her palms rubbing over the softness of the fabric the turtleneck was made off as to calm the racing heart inside his chest.

Ignis only chuckled and lightly shook his head to finally pull her close and kiss her forehead.

“This is your doing. I’m afraid you make my heart beat this quick any time you are close to me.”
