Bless both of you 💕 I’ve been having a lot of Somji feels as of late.
Who said “I love you” first – I can see Sombra playfully saying it, and not ever really meaning it. The first time Genji says it, he means it. He doesn’t use the dreaded ‘aishiteru’ but it still takes Sombra by surprise. She almost asks him ‘why’ but keeps quiet. She may not be used to love but she cares about him enough not to mock him. Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background – Sombra absolutely forbids Genji to have any pictures of her on anything that can be hacked or traced. He meets her halfway and takes a picture of Arturito sitting on her bed which always makes his heart ache for the next time he’ll be able to visit her. Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirror – Sombra and Genji are both guilty of this, but they do so in their respective home languages instead of English. So of course, they just playfully stare at one another and will ask ‘what did you write’ where they’ll refuse to say. Who buys the other cheesy gifts – Genji always brings Sombra gift when he visits her, even though she’s not much of a gift person. One time he brought her something he’d won at a crane game from an outing with the others, it was a stuffed purple dragon. She could only stare at it with a playful grin. Genji is pleasantly surprised to see the dragon sitting next to Arturito on her bed the next time he visits her. Who initiated the first kiss – Sombra, of course, but as always, it’s done in a playful manner, with no serious intent behind it. It’s always on his visor or helm. A part of Genji is resentful, one day taking off both, and asking her if she intends to kiss him now. When she pauses, he’s hurt but mutters that ‘it figures’. The first time she truly kisses him is when he tells her he loves her. He takes off both his helm and visor again, opting to face her eye to eye. She responds to his confession with a kiss to his scarred lips. Who kisses the other awake in the morning – Sombra will always kiss the bridge of Genji’s nose since he sleeps without his mask and visor. She loves the way his eyes flutter open, revealing that warm brown color. The way he says ‘ohayou’ is adorable, too. Who starts tickle fights – Mercifully, Genji does not tickle Sombra. Her augmentations make most of her skin extremely sensitive to the point where something sudden and continuous like tickling is almost painful. At least, that’s what she claims – he figures she just doesn’t like being touched like that. Still, he can’t help the occasionally poke to her sides before he wraps his arms around her and drags her close. She swears that if most of his body weren’t a prosthesis, she’d have the advantage. Who asks who if they can join the other in the shower – Since Genji and Sombra have to take more care when bathing, it’s a bit of a special circumstance and much more intimate than what a shower together already implicates. When they both start mutually trusting one another, they bathe together, taking care of the parts that warrant more caution. But both will ask if they feel like bathing together, otherwise, for the most part, they bathe alone. Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch – Neither Genji and Sombra can cook very well, but since Genji can’t eat as much as he could before (nor enjoy it as much), he tends to surprise Sombra with food he buys, wanting to make sure she eats well after he discovers she’s somehow survived off a diet of mostly DVa Cola and chips. Whenever they visit Japan, he loves to get her bentos and gauge her reactions to various foods he ate growing up. Who was nervous and shy on the first date – It sounds cocky, but Sombra is very confident and used to being asked out from patrons at bars she frequents, so she has no fear. If anything, she is looking forward to seeing what sort of fun she and the ninja could get up to. Genji is more nervous since it’s been quite a while since he was last on any sort of date and he wants to impress Sombra. She can’t help but laugh at his worries, letting him know that he has nothing to worry about. Who kills/takes out the spiders – Sombra dislikes spiders so Genji will be the one to take them out – he doesn’t mind handling them since he used to as a child (mostly to throw them at Hanzo). Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk – Sombra is the only one out of the two who can get drunk, even if it takes a looong time. Still, when she’s smashed and around Genji, she feels safe enough to just start mumbling things like how much she loves his eyes and singing songs about love. This is all in Spanish, of course, so Genji more enjoys seeing her act silly. He can’t help but laugh when he carries her back draped in his arms while she still declares her love for the handsome cyborg.
