skygemspeaks:

Imagine one day Ernest and Lucien are playing video games. And it’s a Friday night, so they don’t have school the next day.

Damien and MC are upstairs in Damien’s library doing something or other.

When suddenly, they hear MC’s voice from the entrance to the living room.

“Hey, Lucien?”

Lucien and Ernest are in the middle of a match.

Lucien doesn’t even look away from the screen.

“Yeah, dad?”

MC doesn’t answer for a moment. Ernest’s character falters on the screen, and Lucien immediately takes the chance to attack him.

Finally, after a few moments of silence MC says that, “Damien and I are heading out to the movies. You guys wanna come with us?”

“Nah, Ernest and I will just hang out here,” Lucien replies, still focused on his game.

“Alright. I’ll leave some money on the counter, so you guys can order yourself some pizza okay?”

“Thanks, love you!”

There’s another moment of silence.

And then a suspiciously squeaky, “Love you too!”

MC and Damien leave for their date.

There’s a few minutes of relative quiet, the only noises coming from the fighting characters in the tv.

“So…” ventures Ernest eventually. “How long’s that been going on?”

“What?” asks Lucien, completely confused.

“You know, the thing with MC,” Ernest replies. Then, when Lucien still doesn’t say anything for a few minutes, “Not that there’s anything wrong with it. I mean, I know more than anyone what an ass your other biological father was to you and Damien, so I guess I’m happy for you that you seem to get along with him so well, but-”

Finally, Lucien pauses the game and turns to look at his friend in utter confusion.

“Ernest. What the ever-loving fuck are you on about???”

“You know,” Ernest says, waving his hand towards the doorway where MC had been just a moment ago. “How you just called MC dad?”

“I did WHAT!?” demands Lucien, eyes going wide as he replays the conversation in his mind, before his cheeks flush a bright red as he realizes that, yeah, he did just do that.

“You also told him you loved him,” Ernest supplies helpfully. “Before he said it to you.”

Lucien sinks to hide his face in the sofa cushions, and lets out a mortified scream.

“It was an accident!” he grinds out, voice muffled.

Ernest snorts in amusement.

“Well, yeah, kinda figured, after all the screaming and shit,” Ernest snorts. “Well either way, it’s not like you can back out now.”

“Why not?” asks Lucien sullenly.

“Dude. Did you not hear how happy he was? I think if you went back to calling him by name now, he might actually cry.”
