It’s terribly difficult for Magdala to know when Reuben’s upset as he keeps things bottled up. However, if he tends to escape the crowd, she’ll follow him and ask if he doesn’t mind her staying. He never turns her away. She waits for some time, just to let the silence sink in before she asks what’s wrong. He’ll either stay quiet, or tell her. It changes from time to time, but she stays with him, helping make him feel better. It gives him a lot of comfort to know that Magdala doesn’t expect him to explain what’s going on right away. 

Magdala gets frustrated with anything first. It’s easy to hear in her voice and see on her face. Usually, Reuben will lend his ear so she can get her troubles off of her chest. If it’s something more personal, like having a nightmare about Reaper coming after her, she’ll try to brush it off and make it seem like it’s not a big deal. Reuben doesn’t accept that, but won’t pressure her to talk. He simply wraps his arms around her, and asks if she wants to hear a whistling tune.
