2015: glitch that basically let people fuck with post formatting and everything looked like this

2018: staff ignored the spambot problem for like years at this point and the app was removed from the app store as a result of the site being absolutely fucking laden with spambots, which finally motivated them to do something about it, resulting in a hastily made protocol to detect bots utterly failing and deleting half of the sites userbase

Gonna put this in this post too –

Contact @staff through the link you are provided if your blog was deleted. Politely explain that you are not just an NSFW blog and they will, more than likely, restore your blog with nothing missing.

I’m not justifying it.

But I just want to say that ever since Tumblr was taken over by parent company Yahoo! which has now been handed to Oath [ A verizon company ], has so many bandaids put on things, that it’s not even funny.
