deadlychildartemis:

Personally my biggest complaint about Ashe is that she doesn’t seem to really exist on a larger scale. She’s the Deadlock Gang and she goes way back with Mccree and that’s it. I’m not saying she needs to join Talon or go traveling, but I think a big part of why people are put off by her is that she doesn’t seem to play a part in any of the bigger conflicts.

By bigger conflicts, I mean:

  1. Talon vs Overwatch (obvious)
  2. Human vs Omnic (pretty much everybody with an opinion on Omnics also all the omnics themselves)
  3. Science for Good vs for Progress (Symmetra, Lucio, Moira, Mercy, Orisa)
  4. Anything with a major influence on the Nation/World

In comparison to the rest of the Overwatch cast, Ashe doesn’t really play into any of these bigger themes. I’m not saying she has to join Overwatch or Talon, but she and the Deadlock gang just don’t seem to be major players on any national or world stage. She’s just a spoiled rich girl running around with a bunch of paid goons around the American Southwest. She doesn’t have any real goal when it comes to the bigger issues.

These problems would actually not be too difficult to fix. Just give Ashe some voice lines with more characters than just Mccree, that would fix the “feeling isolated” problem real quick. And what she says in those voice lines could easily fix the rest of the problems.

For example:

Zarya: You’re omnic friend will betray you one day, criminal.

Ashe: Bob’s more than a friend to me. He’s family.

Ashe: You were a part of Los Muertos? I’ve had …dealings with them before. Very unpleasant dealings.

Sombra: Don’t take it personally, it’s not like you lost anything you couldn’t replace, Elizabeth

Soldier 76: Deadlock was supposed to be cleaned up a long time ago.

Ashe: They certainly tried their best.

Ashe: I’d love to have you in my gang

Bastion: beep bwoo beep bwoop?

(Or alternatively)

Orisa: I am not interested in a life of crime. Sorry.
