@mandakatt we need moar palico headcanons!!! I feel bad for just leaving him out xD
– I think when Hunter arrives in Eos and is probably injured because they left their weapons or had been surrounded by a pack of wild animals and couldn’t fight them off because they’re disoriented from the new environment.
– so palico keeps an eye out for them in case any monster attacks. And he also forages for any curatives to help hunter.
– while he was out foraging he didn’t notice that he came close to a lake where a certain prince was fishing. Noct was probably waiting all day for the fish to bite when he spots palico. He had to do a double take at what he was seeing. He thinks he’s still half asleep and his dream mixed in with reality…
– But nope!!! That is a bipedal cat carrying some fish somewhere. He has half a mind to follow it but he doesn’t want to stray too far from the camp. He’s so lost in his thoughts that it took him five minutes to realize he had a fish bite the line.
– Noctis goes back to camp and the expression of confusion is clear on his face. They guys can see him and asked what happened, Noctis reluctantly tells them about the walking cat he saw. But obviously it was brushed off and maybe he got teased cause of his love for felines.
– Later when the Bros are on a hunt, they hear a cat’s cry. Thinking it was a poor stray who got injured, Noctis rushes off to the sound to find Palico cornered by sabertusks.
– Noctis fights off the pack and checks on the cat. He realizes that he wasn’t dreaming that time and that bipedal cat was definitely real.
– Palico thanks Noct and shakes his hand and Noctis nearly has a heart attack cause the paw pads are so soft!!!
– The Bros catch up and just stand there frozen cause there is a talking cat. When they all get somewhat calm enough to listen to the Palico.
– Palico introduces himself to the Bros and immediately asks them to help hunter since they were injured.
– So they follow this strange talking cat to find a person with weird gear that almost looks outdated. But they help them get their injuries treated at camp nonetheless.
– Sooo.. shenanigans once the hunter and palico become comfortable around the guys a lot of stuff happens.
– Noctis always wants to hold Palico’s paws. It was a strange request but he complied nonetheless because Noctis is happy.
– Gladio is fond of Palico because during camps, they both forage for stuff they find on walks. Look at these boy scouts xD
– In combat Palico often climbs on top of Ignis or Gladio and launch himself to the monsters.
– When palico does the little handicraft thing with his palico gadgets, Ignis sometimes likes to watch him do his work and have small talk.
– Prompto has pictures of Palico more than any of the Bros now….

Noct: -picks palico- Take more shots of Palico.
– Noctis constantly wants to hold Palico that it nearly makes hunter jealous. Like, Noct that’s my palico… 😦

These are adorable, and entirely spot on. XD You SURE you haven’t been reading my wip on these?
Anyhow lemme see do I have anything to add —
– The Palico becomes Gladio’s shoulder buddy. He’s a cat, he loves being up high, and even though their hunter is who they normally climb up on, being on the shoulder of someone that’s 6′6″ is like being on top of the world!
– The Palico rides in the front seat with Prompto when Ignis drives. It’s too crowded in the backseat for them to be back there, and Prompto can’t help but tease Noct that he gets to hold onto ‘the softest fuzzy buddy in the world!’
– Noctis and the Palico are however, nap buddies. Anytime Noctis starts to doze off, doesn’t matter where – At camp, at the hotel – the Palico is instantly on Noct’s lap, and cuddled close to his chest where they purr and lull both Noctis and themselves off to sleep.
– Ignis is always curious about their tools, and in turn, teaches them how to cook. The Palico, much to Ignis’ surprise, catches on well and becomes the best assistant in the kitchen. He’s still surprised that there’s never one cat hair in anything.
– The Palico respects Cor like they do the commander. Which actually made the Marshal smile, move close and give them a gentle head rub between the ears. Now the Palico runs up to Cor each time they see him, and use their paws to place his hand on their head. Cor is all too happy to gently rub their head and ears while he talks to the boys. [Cor is a cat dad, you cannot convince me otherwise.]
– The Palico also adores Talcott and Iris! Taking a hand in each paw they love to be swung off their feet between the two kids, and the Palico loves to hug Talcott, making Noctis just a little bit jealous.
– The palico always wants to help Cindy in her workshop, but instead gets convinced to climb up onto Cid’s lap and sleeps while Cid gently pets them.
