Augh, I’m sorry for not getting back to you sooner on this one! Work and other projects have occupied my brain meats more than I would have liked them too.
And with the Devijho, I’m thinking you meant this little bit of shenanigans yes?
*looks at the picture again by @phoenix-manga / @phnxart, and gigglesnorts* Ahem. yes, ANYHOW –
I was already along that path of thinking – What IF instead of just the Astrals, they get Elder Dragons….*grins and rubs hands together*
SO! The summons still work the same for the Elder Dragons, or Large creatures in this case – so party members have to be knocked out, ect. But instead of just coming in and either smiting the enemy or stomping on it – the Elder Dragon stays because Noctis ‘bonds’ to the beast. But he does not share that bond alone. The Hunter too is linked to the Elder Dragon, and if they or Noctis are rendered unconscious, the beast is de-summoned.
In this ‘bonded’ state, Noctis and the Hunter can hear the beasts thoughts, and are still able to be mobile on the battlefield, but it will take a lot out of them both, so they have learned to do this only in extreme circumstances.
And, now, onto the ‘beasts’ they get to call on for aid. I don’t want to give away tooooo much, cause this was going to be part of the story, but I’ll give you what I can. =3
For Titan – The Trial for the Archaean suddenly becomes a battle for a bond with a Radobaan –
This is their first trial, and it isn’t an easy one. There’s much floundering between the Boys and the Hunter due to them being overwhelmed by the sheer size of this thing, and by the fact that the hunter is trying to explain things while on the move. There’s no time to really strategize anything – so tempers flare, but before the killing blow can be done to the beast, Titan himself arrives, offering not only a covenant with him, but his pet.
For Ramuh – The trial of the Fulgurian is a battle for a bond with a Kirin –
This trial goes much smoother than the previous one, even though there’s much planning to fight this thing on the run, but the group does better. The Hunter sadly takes a charge head on and gets knocked away from the group, and Noctis in his ‘rush to help’ summons the Radobaan.
The Kirin simply stops attacking when the first bonded beast appears. Ramuh is pleased that Noctis would do anything to save the lives of his friends, and in turn, offers a pact with him, and his beast.
For Leviathan – The trial of the Hydraean is also for a bond with a Tobi-Kadachi –
There is much that goes well during this Trial, and much that goes wrong. This beast causes much headache for the hunter and Noctis as not only must they deal with it, but they must also deal with Leviathan herself. The battle between them seems to go on for ages, wearing down the Hunter and Noctis alike – only to finally have the Kirin make an appearance.
The Kirin deals the blow needed to the Tobi-Kadachi, rendering it weak and unable to fight, and then Nocits is able to finish the Trial of the Hydraean…after the trial is complete, Leviathan and the Tobi-Kadachi offer their bonds.
For Shiva – The trial of the Glacian is also for a bond with a Legiana –
This trail was strange…the group had expected there to be a big battle, something hard fought to be won. But instead, Shiva and Legiana simply offer their bond.
For Ifrit – The trial of the Infernian is also for a bond with a Teostra –
Ifrit does not appear in this trial due to his corruption with the scourge – However, Shiva goes to explain that the beast knows of it’s masters will, and will only bond with those it deems worthy.
Noctis and the group do eventually succeed, but not without the Hunter taking on a serious injury.
For Bahamut – the trial of the Draconian is also for a bond with a Nergigante –
Noctis has many many choice words to the Draconian – considering he just woke up from his long sleep within the crystal, and now has yet another Trial?! The hunter also makes their voice known. Despite the Hunters injuries and the general wear and tear on the group, they do manage to defeat and gain the bond of the Nergigante.
…but not without another price that doesn’t get known till they’re at the steps of the citadel..
And…I think that’ll do it for now – I hope this makes sense?
I swear I’ll get my brain meats unscrambled and get things to flow a bit better soon, just gotta get a little downtime again from work is all. ♥
