On Death’s Doorstep [Alucard/Reader]
Summary: Amid your journey, you’re cursed and surely marked for death. And yet, Alucard is not ready to let you go anytime soon.
The journey had been perilous for you, something he burdened a small degree of guilt towards not more passionately dissuading you. He wondered if you had much hope for the world; a world submerged in a sea of blood and corpses, with air so stagnant, acrid, and foul that you could no longer stomach it. For those not chained at Death’s side and his father’s savagery, there was famine and plague.
“Are you sure now’s the time to be staying in one place?” Trevor tightened the whip around his elbow, winding it with his arm until he could fasten it to his belt. “Dracula’s scum are sure to be sniffing around.”
He did not take his eyes away from you and the way your brow wrinkled, face twisting in agony as you writhed on the mattress. The damp cloth fell away from your forehead in your restlessness; dingy where it had been spotless only a while ago. He felt the vise snag his heart, though observing your suffering and the sweat dotting your face was enough to crush it entirely.
Could we see “It’s nice that your voice was the first thing I heard today” for Alucard (Castlevania)? ^^ Maybe something like reader waking up to find him having stood guard throughout the night. Hope you have a lovely night btw💖💕
