Hi Anon, thanks for the ask! This is something @meldacio​ and I have discussed, actually, so our thoughts here:

Noctis is like Black Panther–his power comes from the Ring of the Lucii and is hereditary–and he has an all-black suit that looks similar to one of the Lucii. Insomnia is basically Wakanda. 

Ignis is the Captain America equivalent (but keeps his daggers vs the iconic shield). They only meant for the serum to cure his blindness–it did!–but it had some other effects. 

Gladio is basically Thor: large stature, friendly demeanor, long hair and all (Iris is Valkyrie if you were wondering). His dying father was saved by Insomnia’s advanced technology, so he owes Noct a debt.

Prompto is Spider-Man, kidnapped by his birth father and exposed to the spider bite to “unlock his true potential” or something creepy. His pop culture references and photography suit a Peter Parker stand-in well. 

Side notes you didn’t ask for but you’re getting anyway!

• Luna and Ravus are the Maximoff twins. 
• Cor is the Nick Fury-type character. 
• Cindy is R&D–think James Bond’s “Q”
