The past few weeks had been especially cruel to you. Hanzo had left to go on a mission and though he called as often as he could, you couldn’t help but worry. On top of that, your job had decided that it was a good time to put more of the work load on you with no notice, you had a family member end up hospitalized, and you had not been sleeping very well which only made everything that much worse.

This night was no different than the last several, you drug yourself out of work and back home, fumbling with the keys in your exhausted state. It took more tries than it should’ve to get the the lock, but what a surprise it was to hear a voice that was not your own as the door swung open.

“Welcome home, love of my life.” Your eyes locked on quickly to the source, following him as he moved over to you. You must have had quite the expression on your face too, because he chuckled as he took your hands in his. “Surprised?”

“I… Uh… Y-yeah! You weren’t suppose to be back for three more days!” You finally managed to collect yourself to throw your arms around him tightly, almost afraid to let go just in case you were dreaming this. He hummed slightly and wrapped you up in him embrace as you clung to him, softly nuzzling your cheek before he spoke again.

“Last we spoke, I couldn’t bear hearing how stressed you sounded. My mission means nothing if you are left here to suffer… So I returned early to surprise you.” His right hand moved under you chin to bring your head up before placing a soft, loving kiss on your lips. The world faded away in that moment, leaving just the two of you alone, locked in a kiss sure to leave you breathless… And only when he pulled away did he give you that soft smile, the one you knew the stoic archer only gave to you, as he carried you off to bed.
