So now the question becomes…has Van Helsing McCree been employed to take out the Demon Hunter Sombra (who is also a demon), and has Demon Hunter Sombra been tasked to take out the Werewolf-turning Van Helsing McCree? What will they possibly do when they realize that they’ve essentially been hired to take each other out?

It takes a little while for both of them to figure out that the other is specifically trying to kill the other for being a monster, despite hunting down monsters themselves. They’re evenly matched, so when they come to a stalemate, Sombra sees the sense in forming an alliance. No need to fight an enemy when there doesn’t have to be one. Plus, together, they can clean up a lot more monsters.
