He could smell it.

He could smell it from miles upon miles away and feel like it was right next to him.

The sweet smell of your blood, freely dripping away from your body and having the ability to pool around you.

It was one of his favorite smells, one so powerful it practically drew the vampire through the woods to only have shock yank him out from his presence in the pool of hunger he fell into.

His amber eyes were wide and the bag of camping gear on his shoulder practically felt like concrete suddenly filled it.

Dropping the equipment, he was on his knees right by your side as his large hands carefully took your smaller hands.
