Mcsombra Week 2018 – Themes

Good evening, everyone.

I’ve finalized the list of themes for Mcsombra Week 2018 based on the survey results. What I did was list each idea as it was presented and kept track of how many times a theme was repeated. As such, I’ve gotten the results and I hope that this list is an otherwise collective representative of what the Mcsombra fandom would like to see in a ship event.

I’ve tried to keep the chosen themes as open as possible so that people can choose whatever they feel like doing within that idea. For example, ‘Holiday’ instead of ‘Christmas’ or ‘Halloween’.

Without further ado, here are the day’s themes (along with explanation for clarity’s sake).

Day 1: First 

This could be first anything: first kiss, first meeting, first argument, first holiday together, first date, first child, etc.

Day 2: Organization

I received a lot of requests for Blackwatch, Los Muertos, Deadlock, Talon, and Overwatch AUs – since they’re all organizations in a way, I believed putting them together was the best option so that people can choose whatever they want – maybe Los Muertos Sombra and Deadlock McCree interacting.

Day 3: Monsters and Myths

Again, I got a lot of prompts for different myths/mythical creatures and monster AUs – instead of listing each individual one, it’s up to the creator to choose which path they’d like to choose. It doesn’t have to be an AU – it can be Sombra and McCree simply talking about a myth.

Day 4: Reversal

This one is a bit straight forward but I got a lot of prompts asking for role reversal or swaps. This can be perhaps with McCree as a hacker and Sombra as a gunslinger, or Sombra in Blackwatch while McCree was in /Talon. This can also be done with swaps, such as costume/skin swaps or even r63 themes.

Day 5:  Family

Straight forward prompt but can be interpreted in any way you wish. It could talk about Sombra meeting McCree’s family, or them talking about their families. It can be a family they have together or with any children, or even pets. 

Day 6: Royal

One of the more specific prompts but it was requested several times – again, completely up to personal interpretation of the prompt. This can be a royalty AU, something to do with royalty in their canon universe, it can simply be a theme, etc. 

Day 7:  Creator’s Choice

Self explanatory but one that was requested several times – many asked for a ‘free’ slot. Feel free to use this for any idea that you felt you couldn’t use in any of the other days or an idea that you just really want to share during the event. If for whatever reason, you prefer a specific prompt, feel free to message me and I will reply to you with a random prompt, most likely from a generator. 

I hope these prompts will be as accommodating and open to everyone as possible. 

As for the date, Mcsombra Week will run from:

Sunday, October 21st to Saturday, October 27th – 2018

I hope this is an adequate date to give everyone who wishes to participate enough time to create pieces they feel satisfied with.
