~Magic~ (Connor x Witch!Reader)

hellastressednerd:

Author’s Note: As a person who really likes witchcraft, I figured I could do a Connor x Witch Reader out of both curiosity and boredom.

Summary: Although you were young, you were the youngest detective to have entered the DPD, with your “gift”. When you greet a detective android, science, and magic collide.

No one had expected a young person to act so professionally when dealing with criminals. But surprisingly, you kept your cool under many busts of red ice and cold-blooded homicides. You solved so many cases, and some even questioned, “How does she do it?”

Well, you weren’t any ordinary human, that’s for sure.

You were a witch, meaning you have a bit of magic in your blood. Ever since birth, you have been secretive about it so you can live among everyone else peacefully. Ever since CyberLife has distributed their androids, not that many people believe in magic anymore, which is great because you can use your magic in public a bit more confidently. Granted, there are some stares, but most of the time they return to their business.

The only time where you confessed for having magic was Hank. You knew that he wouldn’t believe you anyway, and would continue getting himself wasted.

“Show me.” He muttered, sitting in his desk chair in the precinct. Your brows went up at that command, most likely because you can’t do anything with police officers looking at you every minute.

“Hank…A police department might not be the best place to show you,” You began, “I would need to do it somewhere private. Like at night!” Hank nodded his head and took a few minutes to think about it.

“I don’t have any cases at the moment-”

“Lieutenant?” Your head twisted at the sound of the voice, immediately shutting your mouth of what you were talking about with the hungover man.

You could already tell that he was an android because of his… everything. You didn’t need magic to tell you that he was an android because he had a special CyberLife uniform, his LED, and the way he spoke. You were quite hurt over how Hank didn’t mention to you having an android for a partner. Before, you remembered that Hank hated androids.

“Shit. I forgot to introduce you to Connor. Y/N, Connor. Connor, Y/N.” You kept looking at Connor. You’ve never seen an android of his model before.

“I’ve never seen your type before…” You tilted your head in curiosity. You looked at the left side of his jacket and it said ‘RK800′‘Interesting,’ you thought to yourself. You only gave a small smile at him.

“It’s good to meet you, detective L/N.” Not knowing what to do, Connor stuck his hand out as an order of greeting. You politely shook his hand and-

Connor detected something unusual once he shook your hand. He couldn’t comprehend it. He did a quick scan of himself and of you. He, of course, was fine, but you weren’t. You weren’t an android. So he concluded you were a human, but you weren’t completely human? He furrowed his brows in confusion.

On the inside, you were panicking heavily. He was confused about something. Did you do something wrong? Can androids detect your magic?

“Connor, what the hell?” Hank shook Connor’s shoulders a little bit to bring him back to the real world. Connor was brought back, confusion still leaving traces on his face, but now calm.

“Sorry. I thought there was something wrong.” You pouted. This android was special, considering he’s only a prototype distributed only for criminal investigations. But then again, how would he react? Androids were made of pure technology and science, how could they react to magic? You kept your cool, for you didn’t want yourself to look so suspicious.

“Well, how about we just go to the park tonight and walk Sumo or something?” Hank suggested, breaking the ice a little.

You nodded happily, “I would love to, plus I miss Sumo!” You smiled, much more brightly this time. Hank only chuckled at your childish antics. He knew how much you loved Sumo, and you would always visit for the sole purpose of taking care of Sumo whenever Hank was out.

Sumo ran around the park, sniffing everything and everyone in curiosity. You three were sitting on a bench, watching Sumo being the dog he is. You looked up at the starry night sky and noticed that while stars glittered around the night, you noticed that it was a full moon. ‘An even better night,’ you noted.

“So Y/N, are you gonna show us or what?” Hank said, growing impatient. Connor looked at Hank in confusion, “What will detective L/N be showing us?” The android asked.

“Apparently she knows ‘Magic’,” Hank air quoted, “But in an age full of robots I fucking doubt it. I’d rather see it for myself.”

You gulped and stood up, looking at your surroundings. You slightly glanced at Hank’s secret flask poking out of his pocket. Smirking, you raised your arm up and swiftly pulled it down, your arm in the direction of Hank with your hand reaching out for something.

With an invisible force, the flask moved to your hand, you grasping at it hard. You also started to be a bit daring, and let the flask go, but the flask stayed where it was – floating in the air. You moved your hand in different directions as the container followed you. It was one of the first spells you successfully mastered and used throughout your life. It was useful for a lot of things like pranks

You turned around to look at the two police officers, and both of them were in shock. Hank didn’t want to believe it, but it was true – he knows someone that does magic.

But Connor – Connor was the most surprised. He couldn’t find a reason how and why that would happen just from the movements of your arms.

Frustrated, Connor stood up and demanded, “How can you do that? It’s impossible to do something like that! H-How is it possible…” The man looked defeated. You patted his shoulder and affirmed, “Nobody knows how magic works Connor. There are lots of different theories, but in the end, no one knows. You two are the only ones that I’ve shown this to…” You hung your head low in shame. You were ready to hear the words of discrimination and shame to your face.

Instead, you were brought to a warming hug, by an old police lieutenant and an android investigator.

You silently let the tears flow out of your eyes, out of happiness.

“Thank you,” You hugged the two back as tightly as you can, “Thank you so much.”

When they pulled back you had the warmest smile that melted the two men’s heart.

Hank ruffled your hair, “Welcome to the family, Y/N.” You could see Hank smiling slightly, which is a sight so rare to see.

“I may not fully grasp the idea of magic…but I would like to learn more with you.” Connor smiled at you, and deep inside, you were blushing your magical little heart out.

With Sumo following you three, you all returned to Hank’s home, with you showing small tricks and spells. Connor was so fascinated by this new area of knowledge, he was lost in both your magic and the face of happiness you had while performing these amazing spells.
