Worst Irish takes are people who claim that if u aren’t fluent in Irish or if u don’t have a strong accent you don’t get to ‘whine’ about the effects of British imperialism like HELLO people can’t help their accents (which are obviously becoming less ‘’’’’’irish’’’’’ as people absorb more international media) and gaeilge is hard!! It’s badly taught and poorly structured which is directly because we had to salvage a dying (dead) language which wasn’t adjusted to modern speech. It’s stilted in time and awkward to speak, of course it’s difficult for young people to learn!
