ribbons-halos:

A Ko-fi reward for Sharkbait who requested McSombra in the King and Thief AU the night of their wedding. Thanks for the hot cocoa, doll! I hope you enjoy this intimate moment between the royal couple.

Ribbon’s Ko-fi Rewards

McSombra. King and Thief AU. 500 word drabble. Fluff.

She’s almost breathless. Still, she gestures to him as she turns around, pushing her long hair out of the way so he can get to the ribbon securing her dress.

“Are you sure about the name Sombra?” McCree asks gently. His fingers slowly unlace the ribbon along her back. “Queen Olivia is much better.”

Her smile twists over her shoulder. A veil still fits over her hair, but the white dress has a train as long as nearly half the courtroom. McCree didn’t mind carrying it for her into their bedroom.

Their bedroom. Where he’ll wake up in the morning beside her.

“Olivia is only for your tongue to speak, Jesse,” she says hushly, as if anyone would be foolish enough to disturb the royal couple’s wedding night.

The ribbon falls between his hands. Stopping, McCree presses his lips gently along her neck. The warmth of her person and the scent upon her skin keeps him steady. Though his heart beat rises with the wonder and fright of marrying his love, it settles softly against her.

“Wife,” he murmurs against her shoulder. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulls her close. Olivia hums as he buries his mouth along her shoulder.

“That’s strange to hear,” she muses. She reaches one hand back to touch his cheek and hair. “No more strange then ‘Queen’ I suppose.”

“The kingdom will come to see you as I do soon enough,” he speaks firmly. There were whispers against the lowly thief their king decided to marry, but she is already learning so quickly the way of the court. He trusts his people in her hands, even though she hates the spot light upon her.

“No one sees me like you do, Jesse.”

Turning in his arms, she faces him now. She rests her palms against his chest, waiting there for a moment before undoing the string keeping his royal red cloak upon his shoulders.

“You are the best thing to happen to my kingdom,” he murmurs as the cloak falls heavily to the floor. Smoothly, Olivia begins to work upon the buttons of his shirt.

“You are lovesick,” she laughs quietly, “but so am I.”

With her gentle assistance, his shirt comes off. Standing bare before her, he reaches for her veil. Behind her crown, he takes the white lace off of her curled, dark hair.
“My husband,” she tastes on her tongue. In her voice, the words echo with warmth.

“Is that strange to say as well?” he asks. His hand falls to hold her waist, as the other rubs her cheek.

“Oh, yes,” she smiles, earning a chuckle from him. “But it is a good sort of strange.”

“Good,” he murmurs as she touches her lips to the tip of his nose.

“Are you still so sure about a thief as your queen?” she asks, holding his gaze.

In a heartbeat, he takes in her purple-blue eyes. He leans forward, touching his forehead to hers. They stay for a moment, simply breathing together.

“Yes, my queen.”

A soft touch of her lips brushes against his.

“Olivia,” he murmurs. “Will you have me?”

The new queen slips her dress off her shoulders and down her waist. Without another passing moment, McCree sweeps her into his arms and carries her to their bed.
