She sneaks back into the castle just to ask McCree what on earth is this nonsense, because it can’t honestly be true. She surprises McCree as he hasn’t set up any treasure for her to steal but they’re alone and she has a lot of questions.
They have their kind of banter, where Sombra jokes that she thought she was the only thief he was seeing when he tells her she is. After that, she just straight up asks if it’s true he wants to marry her. McCree tells her yes.
Even hearing it from his mouth, Sombra still doesn’t believe it. He hasn’t even seen her entire face behind her mask, much less been with her for more then an entire day in one sitting and he wants to spend his entire life with her? Besides, as nice as Queen sounds, its not the life she wants.
She ends up telling him he’s just a love sick puppy, but McCree calmly disagrees. When she turns to leave, he asks when he can see her again. Sombra only tells him she’ll come back if there’s something shiny here for her to take.
i’m lvoin this AU but do you think sombra would tell mccree enough is enough after hearing the rumors spread even more? i get the feeling she wouldn’t want to be a queen, even if she does genuinely enjoy having those conversations with him. she enjoys her life of thieving too much. like ‘you may be a king but the world doesn’t cater to what you want – even if you’re royalty’. i think she’d seriously question him about this ‘love’ nonsense, too
