headcanon: Sombra actually gained interest in McCree after her siren song didn’t work on him 🤔🤔🤔

ribbons-halos:

She starts getting closer to his ship, because he must not be hearing her song right. When he still doesn’t come to the edge, she starts singing loudly.

He does listens, but it doesn’t lure him into throwing himself off the boat without a second thought. She immediately suspects a charm or magic working against her song.

She finally calls out to him, and McCree at least comes to the edge where she sees that nothing ordinary is off on his person. Her questions start coming, and McCree answers them although he’s not sure where she got the idea of him using magic from.

Their conversations slowly become regular. At night, when the rest of the crew is asleep and the waters lie still, McCree seeks out the mermaid. He tells her her songs are beautiful, but they are distracting to his crew. Sombra smiles at that, before saying her songs were meant for him, but they don’t work on him.

McCree doesn’t know why either, but when she sings for him, there is no need for magic to enchant McCree with the purple fins and scales of the mermaid.
