“Nice shot. Unfortunately for you, you missed.”

[ Destiny Star ] Jade Curtiss may not have had to deal with a Fon Slot Seal, but when Largo destroyed his gloves, and the mana control matrices along with them, he was forced to use his old prototype.  A prototype, mind you, which had been grafted under his skin and cannot be used indefinitely. Overuse causes the inlays to get so hot that they actually brand his skin.  Thankfully, they never scar because of his very minor healing factor (a result of using himself as a test subject for his own nanotech research, at times).

The inlays travel along the full length of each arm, joined across his shoulder blades. These have the secondary effect of acting as a sort of ‘ground’ for mana. Instead of dispersing within his body (very dangerous), mana is channeled through the inlays and into his artifact spear, where it can be stored for later use.

Jade is not a Talent and has no natural-born capability for manipulating mana. Even these modifications cannot give him the healing hands of a true Talent.
