Goddess Serket (Egyptian)

image

Serket is the Goddess of scorpions, snakes, medicine, magic, and healing venomous stings and bites as well as childbirth and nursing.  She is also known as

Serqet, Selket, Selqet, Selkit, and Selkis. Serket is generally known as a protection Goddess. She is said to have control of venomous spiders, scorpions, and snakes. Although she protects people from venomous bites she also sends poisonous creatures after people she disproves of. According to legend Serket provided protection to Isis and her son Horus from Set. She is associated with the wet cardinal point. Her symbol is a scorpion. Call on her if you need help healing a bite or sting (make sure to get proper medical care first!) or if you need family protection.
