This is a strange impulse ask, but Im writing a fic and was describing Ardyn’s eyes from a negative point of view, and I started to realize that there is so much going on in that man’s face. I started to wonder how someone who adores ardyn (but also acknowledges that he is a monstrous trash bin full of evil, sadness, and daemons) would describe his eyes. Color, depth, expression, etc. Can you give me your best passionate rant focused on the eyes of our favorite Man of No Consequence?

hmm well let’s see…

Ardyn’s eyes are probably his most deceptive features. They’re large and almond shaped and can look so bright and kind. At times, even when he’s being a menacing jerk, his eyes are just two big curious, adorable golden orbs.

for example, this scene… doesn’t really look like he’s trying to be intimidating at all, but he is, and it works.

and here, too… soft, almost puppy like expression…. but damn if it’s not chilling (lighting and angle work here as well but still). Even that smile he gives Noctis as their blades collide just before the start of the final battle, he just looks amused.

this makes any genuine emotion, one he’s showing with no restraint, all the more potent.

basically Ardyn’s eyes are his greatest mask, though there are moments the mask slips and you see his anger, his regret, his grief… but blink, and you may miss it.
