The kumadori makeup he’s wearing is that of a “hero” character, rather than a villain! To simplify it greatly, red=good, black/blue = bad (or ghost), and grey/brown = demon/monster.

Also, the more complex the design, the more emotional/passionate the character is. From the chart below, he’s between “justice” and “handsome guys” 😜
