Have you played portal? How do you think the chocobros would fare with the puzzles and constant background murderous AI snark?

As for how the boys would fare…

• Noctis 
• Would be a natural, quickly getting the hang of upgrades to the portal gun and flying around the lab with ease. It’s 100% intuitive and it’s impressive af. 
• He destroys equipment and cameras to spite the AI supervisor
• Prompto 
• Would be That Person who shoots a portal at the ceiling and under his feet so he just keeps falling in an infinite loop until he picks up enough speed to travel faster than light itself. 
• He’s no dummy, but he sometimes miscalculates trajectory and slams his face into a wall rather than bridging a wide gap between platforms. The AI will mock him for it or make fun of his appearance and it really hurts his feelings ;___;
• Would be fiercely protective of it if it ended up trapped in a potato though??? Like idk something about small sentient things just flicks on a protective instinct
• Gladio 
• Would use portals to flick people off around corners… Like there’s a sentry patrolling the lab and… there’s a beefy arm sticking out making obscene gestures at it
• Will do the exact opposite of what the AI tells him to do… Like legit this man will sit outside of the elevator all day if it tells him to get inside it
• Once tried to bypass a puzzle by prying open the exit door with his bare hands
• IT WORKS
• The doors end up becoming electrified because of this… And there’s a delay between the door opening and the electric field switching off, so the other boys have been reduced to twitching, crackling heaps on the floor more than once
• Way to go, Gladio, you’ve ruined it for everyone
• Ignis 
• Would hate using the goo!!! But yeah he’s also a portal-making pro. He steps into each new room and stands there, so still and quiet, as his calm green eyes scan the room and plan out what he needs to do to cross it.
• Will spout off paradoxes in an attempt to scramble the AI’s brains
