Christmas
is at the door and it’s time to bake with your dear boyfriend!
Noctis
The moment
you suggest making some cookies with Noctis, he gets really excited about it.
But his motivations are sinister. He will more or less skillfully try to pry
what you got him as a present in the middle of the baking. You know – maybe he could
make you slip something, just a teeny tiny hint. He really, really wants to
know to the point of pouting when you refuse to tell.
After it
becomes clear there is no way to make you accidentally talk about the presents,
Noctis focuses more on eating the dough than actually helping you. Half of the
time baking goes to slapping the prince’s greedy fingers from touching the oven-ready
cookies. If you want to make Noctis help, you gotta take the Ignis-attitude and
give him stern, precise orders and ban the dough eating in this kitchen.
What comes
to the decorating, Noctis prefers to spill a massive amount of the frosting
onto a cookie just before he pops it into his mouth.
Prompto
When
December hits, Prompto will be all about baking some cookies. He holds it as a
dear tradition and always takes an ample amount of photos of you and the whole
process, so you better make sure you look presentable in the kitchen. He will
call out for you to pose and you have to snatch that camera off his hands if
you want any other photos than selfies of your personal sunshine.
Baking with
Prompto is first and foremost fun; jokes flying, singing to the Christmas
carols and flour everywhere. It
doesn’t matter what the outcome is. Honestly, one year you both forgot about
the cookies in the oven. What followed was a night spent at Noct’s couch, away
from the burnt smell that took over the whole apartment.
Oh well, what
matters the most, is that you get to make memories together.
Ignis
Ignis does
the whole cookie-baking thing from bottom to top by himself, so the process
takes several evenings, but the results are amazing.
He makes the best cookie dough you’ve ever had the pleasure to present to your taste
buds. Each year he knows to make a little extra so you can take sneaky bites
while baking, thinking he doesn’t notice. But yup, he does. You’re allowed to
try to distract Ignis in the kitchen, but beware not to mess with the precious
ingredients.
Instead of
varying the cookie dough, Ignis tries each year new different recipehs
toppings, like blue cheese and marinated figs. The combinations most often
sound very… peculiar, but you’ve come to trust his instincts. When the cookies
are ready, you sit down to relax and try them out. However, you still can’t get
Ignis to give up Ebony as he prefers to enjoy his cookies with it rather than
any seasonal beverage.
Gladio
Gladio puts
so much effort into making the cookies it’s really endearing. The reason behind
it is that he wants to give them later to Iris to decorate and distribute
forward. No one can say no to the Christmas cookies the Amicitia siblings
offer. Not even if they want to.
Gladio
really values the time you both put aside to hang out and bake together since
it’s not something you would normally do. The cookies he bakes might not be the
prettiest ones, but watching him roll the dough really carefully and plant the
molds on it just makes your heart burst with warmth. He is almost meticulous
about it and seeing a big guy like him putting so much effort and love into it
always makes you remember why you fell for him in the first place.
Nyx
Nyx might
not be the most into it, but he will gladly come hang out with you and maybe
even help out with the cookie baking. Though mostly he will just try to steal
the raw ones and slap your butt with a cocky smirk on his lips. If you’re
feeling like chasing him with the rolling pin in your hand, just do it. While
you bake, Nyx will chat with you, pass ingredients for you and most
importantly, strut around and smile in a way that makes you forget all promises
about being good before the Christmas.
While he
has the courtesy to let you to have peace while baking, his patience won’t
extend into watching you decorate the cookies. Even less into helping you with
the decorating. No, right after you take the ready cookies out from the oven,
he will whisk you away to do something completely else.
Ravus
Don’t give
up when Ravus declines your first ten requests to bake Christmas cookies.
Gradually his responses will get less hostile, so he is definitely open to
being coaxed into it. After the hard part is over, he gets surprisingly into
when you start the actual baking. Of course, he would never show it. He has a
reputation to uphold after all.
Ravus will
secretly enjoy spending the time with you, goofing around and test-tasting the
dough. He will complain less and less the more dough you feed him, so make sure
you have prepared plenty! While you take the lead on the baking part, he will
inevitably supersede you when you start decorating the cookies. Who would have
known Ravus Nox Fleuret would be so talented and finicky about cookie
decorating? He will place each piece of sprinkles by hand and each cookie will
end up looking like a masterpiece, too fancy to be eaten.
